This was a present by our children on our 25th Marriage Anniversy on 26 Oct 04. Good lovable present indeed. We added NOKIA N 70 2 years down the line. Everything was well since the day we bought the two cells.
Unfortunately, the power pack of 3310 became weak during Sep 08 and could not get a replacement battery either from the grey market or from the Nokia distributor / retail chain shops. Hence have to be dependent on the cheaper versions available viz the Chinese make(thats what the printed matter says on the battery), but the cell never worked since replacement. Called at one of the support centres of Nokia at Basavanagudi area in Bangalore for a check up. Said there was a software problem and it should be done up, and advised me to pick up the phone after 2 days.
After 2 days picked up the phone and was told to charge my battery since it is weak and start using it.
I charge the batter for 4 hours as advised by the battery trader, but that was not enough, hence extended the charge to a few more hours. That was also not enough. When I called back at the Nokia care centre, they say Cell is good, battery is bad. Battery trader says his battery is good, Nokia care centre tell lies, there is problem with the Cell. This went on for 2 months. Got fed up with Nokia instruments especially holding the instrument presented by my children with their hard saved money for the occassion. I still keep it as a show piece in our show case and tell my friends the sad story of demised first cell of mine.
Later I cam to know from one of the confidents of Nokia that the company has stopped supply of spares for this model, on account of other latest models and they are very rigid in after sales support and poor service.
Will NOKIA accept this. If not can Nokia replace my first cell(for which I have a valid Invoice) with a latest equivalent instrument free of cost to say that NOKIA cares?
