I purchased this handset from a Nokia priority showroom in the year June 2004. It was working fine. Suddenly one month back Feb 2006 it displayed ''Please enter restriction code''. When contacted Nokia service station(mentioned in Nokia web site) in Jaynager 4th Block, they said please ''throw this handset''. How can a handset which is 1 and 1/2 year old becoming unusable that too a high end model. I thought of trying 3rd block service center, here they were optimistic saying we donot have the software, please go to hosur road service station. I took it to Bright Point '' service station, they kept the handset and returned us with no repair saying that they donot have the requisite software to unlock it. They seemed to have thought that this handset was purchased outside India but it is a fact that it was purchased in India. I have now given up hope and think that the 11,000 Rs that I had spend on it has gone waste.
My question is how can authorised service station donot have requisite software? Who should have it. Do nokia expects customers to write the softwares themselves?
This is pathetic.
Also the customer service was at its lowest level at the service station.
