Nokia 3220 is my one year old hard work’s earning! On April 4 my 10 class board exams came to end with vain! I got 511 marks out of 600 which are very low when compared to my expectation of 530: (. My father asked me what I wanted. I told him I wanted a Cell phone. I wanted to buy Nokia N-Gage. But when I came to know that it doesn’t have a camera, then I left it and started searching other phones. The Phones in my mind were Nokia 3220, Sony Ericsson Z 300i and LG C2500.

Why Nokia 3220?
Nokia is very famous for its quality and durability, than any other Cell phone brand in India. It is marked for its easy operating system and is very user friendly. So far there were no draw backs of Nokia 3220. The camera of Nokia 3220 was very clear. The Nokia customer care executive told me that its one of the best camera’s that Nokia has ever produced. In addition to these points this phone is very elegant and stylish.
It’s the most stylish phone ever. The four flash lights are very good to look. These flash when there is a incoming call to be answered and also in accordance to games. It has a loud speaker which Sony Ericsson doesn’t has. LG C2500 also has a Camera and it also has a MP3 player, with low quality of sound output. The camera clarity is also not good. The buttons of LG are very closely attached and are very stubborn. So, I preferred Nokia 3220 to LG C2500 and Sony Ericsson Z300i.

External looks and Design
The Nokia 3220 is a phone with candy bar shape. It is slim and fits in the pockets with ease. The phone weighs very less about 86 grams with battery, which makes it the lightest camera phone ever. The keys are divided in to three groups. The first group consists on the five way navigation key, the make and break call buttons and the select and back button. The main draw back according to me is the five way navigation key. This key is very uncomfortable to use and is very stubborn. It is also very small in size.
The remaining two sets of buttons comprise of the number buttons. There are no side keys in the phone. The power key is on the top of the phone just like the Nokia 3310 and 3315. There are four rubbers, two on either side of the phone. These have to replaced by transparent plastic groves to make the flash lights appear. They cost about 150 rupees. The back cover is transparent. It can be filled with a cut out cover. On the back of the phone there is the lens of the camera.

Software and Operating System
The menu of this phone is same to all Nokia color phones. It comprises of Messages, Call Register, Contacts, Settings, Gallery, Media, Organiser, Applications and Web.
Under the Messages option three types of messages can be created. They are Text, Multimedia and Flash messages. To send Multimedia and Flash messages you need to have GPRS and MMS activated on your mobile. E-Mail can be also sent through this phone.
Under the Call register option one can view all the Missed, Received and Dialed calls. The call duration can also be known in this option. There is also a Packet data connection timer in which you can view the last duration of the Packet data connection. One can also clear all the timers related to the packet data connection.
Under the Contacts option one can Add, Edit and delete one or desired contacts. Voice tags can also be set in this phone. Some contacts can also be set as Speed dials to make instant calls.
Under the Settings option there are options such as Profiles, Themes, Tone settings, Light settings, Display settings and Time & Date settings. These all can be altered under this option. The factory settings can also be restored through a option named Restore Factory Settings.
Under the Gallery option there are default folders like Images, Video clips, Themes, Graphics, Tones and Recordings. This is a multimedia based option.
Under the Media option there are sub-options like Camera and Voice recorder. One can record two songs, each of length 5 minutes and listen them through the loud speaker or ear phone.
Under the Organiser option there are sub-options like Alarm clock, Calendar, To-do list, notes and Synchronisation.
Under the Applications option there are sub-options like Games, collection and extras. Maximum of 10 games can be stored in this phone. This phone is a gaming phone next to N-Gage series produced by Nokia.
Last comes the Web option. One can browse the Internet through the fast XHTML browser. As this phone is a EDGE phone, one can download TV clips from the internet and watch them in the phone.

Conclusion
Nokia 3220 is a Tri-band and camera phone with limited fun. It lacks a MP3 player with which it would have been great. But it is still a value for money phone. The maximum cost of this phone is 5300 rupees with warrantee and bill. I think Nokia must stop the production of five way navigation keys and start joy sticks production as the five way navigation key is very un comfortable. So, this phone is a good buy and is definitely value for money.
