Sleek, Sexy, Sturdy- Good buy !. Review on Nokia 2100

Ultimately succumbing to peer pressure-and comments like ''Have you started STrength Training, on your arms ?'', ''Naya Pencil box? '', my kirana wala telling me -yeh kya Baba Adam ke zamaane ka phone leke ghoom rahe ho madam ji!! ''--yours truly decided to finally finally change her Nokia 5110i to a better model !

I bought this model, after doing my bit of research (which wasn’t much time consuming as there were very few models that fell within my budget )- so ultimately the choice was between Nokia 3350 and 2100- also read all reviews on both these models @ MS!

A colleague asked me to visit a particular shop @ Heera Panna- where I would get a genuine piece and a good price ! (Details can be divulged through comments or M2M)

So, after checking out the features and a bit of haggling for the price of my old mobile- I became a proud owner of NOKIA 2100 (proud for how long-only time will tell ;-)

APPEARANCE

Neat, lightweight, and has many Personalization features . The commonest color is Sky Blue, but there is also a Sea green, Peach and Dark Gray, the dark gray will go well for men ! The side panels are white enamel finish, white keypad buttons, white light and light blue screen light.

At the back, there is a photo-insert cover ( to keep a snap of your loved one- or your own self )!

There is a notch on the side for looping the string-for all those Absent minded professors, so that you don’t lose your mobile !

FEATURES

· SMS chat - have a conversation, similar to chat services on the Internet, with your friend through SMS

Minus Points / Doubts

1. Not much different from the less expensive models like 3310 and 3315

   
   




2. Reports of phone heating up when one speaks for long period of time (will have to check out my personal experience –for which I’ll get ample opportunities of course :-D )- 5110i has never heated up despite my heated discussions for over 60 minutes at times !!!!!!

   
   




3. Battery life needs to be tested ! 5110i had a very sturdy battery- would charge it once in 4 days in its infancy days and then eventually everyday !

   
   




4. The screen is pretty small sized-but it’s a small sacrifice to give considering the small size of the phone.

Now the part for which many of my MS friends will be waiting- the financial loss incurred by me- The model came for Rs.6000 (with bill) and after deducting the amount that they paid for my 5110i- ie. Rs.1800- I got it for Rs.4200…..seems a reasonable deal, for 2100’s sex appeal !
