The BASIC model. Review on Nokia 1100

Nokia 1100, at this moment of time is perhaps the cheapest mobile set offered by Nokia. The cellphone is small in size, it is sleek and does not look unattractive. It is a very basic model and so it does not have sophisticated features. But at the same time, it certainly is an answer to one's basic need of connectivity.

1100 has a monochrome display and a green light. People who dislike the green light can go for the model 1108 which is same as 1100 except for the display light. The mobile basically comes in three colours - black, grey and blue. Out of these the black one is the most common and perhaps the best too. The phone is light and compact due to which it easily fits into your pocket. The phone's keypad is also easy to use. But I found one minus point about the keypad which is that since the keypad is made up of a single piece of plastic, with time, the plastic tends to get loose.

The phone also has a torch. Thought the torch does not give out very bright light (some phones have nearly as strong display lights) but it surely comes handy in dark places. The phone has a very good battery backup of about 4-5 days on average usage.

There are two games in this set. One is the traditionals Snake and ther other one is Space Impact.

One thing which kind of surprised me was that in this set, the ringtone always rings in the ascending mode. That means, that even if you set the tone in non-ascending mode, it still rings ascendingly. Also, I find the volume level of the ringtones is less and you have to set the level at the maximum level most of the times. But I found this with 2300 also.

So I would conclude here by saying that this phone is meant for persons who desire connectivity and not a multipurposed device with which they can carry out a multitude of functions.
