Nokia 1100 is my first cell phone. I wanted a basic model and decided on Nokia because of its brand image. Based on mouthshut.com reviews I zeroed in on Nokia 1100. I purchased it in Jan. 2005. There has been no occasion to regret my decision since then.
It is handy and has met my expectations regarding its utility & performance. In the reviews I had read, a mention was made about its display being not that good. But, I have found no problem with its display from the utility point of view.
One of the features mentioned was the longer talk-time & standby-time. Though they are longer than those of the other makes/models, the figures mentioned in the promotional material seems to be based on ideal conditions, which could be never realised. The figures given in the User's Guide (2+ hours talk-time & 100+ hours standby-time) are realistic and the customer should be made aware of the same before he/she makes a purchase decision.
There seems to be a problem with speed dial feature. I am not able to assign the numbers other than 2. Of course, I have not yet checked up with the dealer.
Sometimes, I am able to hear perfectly, but the person at the other end says that he/she cannot hear properly. Some say it is a network problem and some say it ia problem with Nokia 1100 model. May be others can throw more light on these problems.
Overall, I am very much satisfied with its performance and it meets my requirements from a basic model.
