“Made for India” is the caption given by to the Nokia 1100 by its company. Truly it’s a phone made for India as there are a many power cut off’s in the summer season in India. This phone is very useful in rural and some of the towns for the torch light it has got. The Nokia company has stopped the production of its legends Nokia 3310 and Nokia 3315 and being promoting this phone’s production. Recently a modified version of this phone arrived at the market which is the Nokia 1108.
The main difference between these two phones is the back light. The Nokia 1100 has a green back light whereas the Nokia 1108 has a white backlight. The Nokia 1100 has a unique side grip which is very good to hold. By that the phone never slips from one’s hands. This phone is available in many colors. Among all the colors the black color is great. This phone is presently available in the market for 2800 rupees which is worth to buy. The navigation key is good and makes the operation very easy for the user.

Messages :

This option is common in each and every phone in the world. In this option you can compose Sms’s through the Write Message option. SMS stands for Short Messaging service. You can type a maximum of 459 letters and send your message to a contact stored in the phone or else you can type the recipient’s phone number. The messages received will be automatically stored in the Inbox option present. By selecting the Inbox option you can view messages which were received by you.
Another interesting option is the Drafts option. In this you can compose SMS and store them to send them later. The messages which were sent by you will be stored in the Sent Items option. They can be viewed by selecting it. You can chat with your friends or any one else thorough the Chat option. Any number of members can discuss through this option. Picture messages can also be sent to others by selecting the pictures present in the Picture Messages option. There are some Templates in this phone. You can send them in case of any emergency to any one. You can also create your own Templates. Messages can be deleted by selecting the Delete Messages option. The settings corresponding to the messages can be altered through the Message Settings option.

Contacts :

This option is helpful in storing phone numbers of individuals in the phone. By the help of this option you need not to dial the number which you want to call, you can simply go to the contacts directly by clicking on the down navigation key and highlight the number which you want to call. After highlighting you should click on the center button. Then your call will be placed. Under this option you can also search number which you want if you have stored lot of numbers. You can also Add or Delete contacts in this option. You can assign tones for some special numbers, so that you will be aware when they are calling you. You can store up to nine numbers in the Speed Dial option. By this you can directly call the individual by pressing a specific key for 2 seconds. For example if I had stored “Mukul” in number 8 speed dial. Then what I have to do is just press 8 button for two seconds to make a call.

Call Register :

In this option you can view the Missed, Dialed and Received calls. Twenty Dialed calls, five Ten missed calls and Ten received calls will be stored. As the number increases, the last calls get deleted. You can also check the call duration of all calls. You can also set a Prepaid Credit and check your balance when need arises.

Tones :

This option is the favorite of all children including me! Under this option you can select your Ringing tone. There are already thirty eight ringing tones in your phone. You can download seven tones, making a total of forty five ringing tones. The incoming call and message tone alert can set in this option. The keypad tones and warning tones can be set. Vibration alert can be altered. There is another option named Rhythmic Back Light. When ever you get a call the back light flashes with the Ringing tone making the phone attractive in public places.

Profiles :

There are five default profiles in this phone and one profile is adjustable. There are profiles named General, Silent, Discreet, Loud and Mystyle. If you keep your Phone in Silent mode then it doesn’t ring while an incoming call or message, it just vibrates. You can personalize your phone through this option.

Settings :

There are some options like Time settings, Call settings, Phone settings, Key-guard settings and Security settings. The entire settings of the phone can be altered in this option. You can also Restore all the Factory Settings by selecting the option Restore Factory Settings option. A minor mistake done in the Security settings option will lead to problems in the functioning of the phone.

Alarm Clock :

Under this option you can set the Alarm time. The Alarm tone can also be changed, You can keep a Ringing or a standard or a special tone. Even if you switch-off the phone during the alarm tone, the phone awefully rings.

Reminders :

You can add remainders and set the alarm, so that the phone reminds you of a particular day which you had set. This is quite similar to the Alarm Clock option.

Games :

There are two games in this phone. They are Snake and Space impact+. When ever you get bored you can play these and pass your time. The snake is little bit improved than the previous phones and Space Impact will have an impact on the user because of its game play. In the game settings option you can alter the game sounds, game lights and shakes.
