We all love circus jokers, don’t we? Why? Because they make themselves true idiots and their idiocracy make us laugh aloud. That’s a perfect example of situational comedy. But the fact is that the jokers in the circus are the best of the performers and their very important task is supporting the performers who are doing death defying stunts. So along with taking the responsibility of entertaining the crowd, they also act as the support system of the performance. Now imagine you visited a circus and found out that there would be no performance whatsoever by the performers and the only acts you would be experiencing were that of the jokers. Will you be interested? For some time you may get some good time, but for the rest 2 hours? Will not you be getting bored?

That’s exactly happened to the movie No Problem. Here everyone wanted to be a joker and hence the director forgot the idea that situational comedy can only be a supporting system of a good plot with some excellent performances along with good music tracks. Come on, let’s face it, you can’t be a Chaplin to create situational comedies that will be remembered for centuries. And if you notice closely every Chaplin movie is a series of situational comedy scenes which were actually used to create a great plot. They supported the great plots to be unfolded in front of the audience.

The main problem of No Problem is, the director only tried to create every scene to look idiotic to extract some laughter for the audience. But those scenes putting together did not result a good, or even a mediocre plot. It was like a circus of two and half hours performed by only jokers without any real performance/plot. The director Anees Bazmee should not have underestimated Indian audience to this degree in case of taste and intelligence.

The Plot: All problems, I am too confused if it really exists. I wonder how much effort the story writer had to undergo to write a script like this, which did not challenge any part of your brain which checks the logicality of a situation.

Acting: The best part in this area is our good old Sanju Baba. He was a treat to watch. Suniel Shetty, Susmita Sen, Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Neethu Chandra( I wish she had more meaningful role) were good. Akshay Khanna was tolerable. Kangna Ranaut was a total disaster, she was very much misfit for the role.

Music: Awful. It’s very sad it came from Anand Raj Anand, we really expect much better from him, he has the talent to deliver quality work. I wonder what went wrong this time.

Cinematography: Good, especially the action scenes are captured very effectively.

Choreography: Awful. My humble advice to the choreographer, only showing fair skin of some imported female dancers does not make a song look good.

The only bliss: The character played by Vijay Raaz, the madman who wants to die as he does not want to survive a world where man becomes his greatest enemy. It was a surprising glimpse of intelligence, which otherwise was completely missing in the movie.

Overall, if you have enough time and money to spend in the weekend, please check Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se, at least you have something to bring back home. Yes, No problem has a very noble mission and vision statement. Wherever you go, be it USA or Australia, the day will soon come when you can interact with everyone in Hindi…:D. It’s a complete NO from my side.
