The movie starts with kargil war reporting by Meera(Rani Mukherjee) and a pub of high society where Jessica(Myra) is a drink provider along with her male counterpart Vikram. The scenes go parallel.
Meera was a war reporter and she was reporting the casualty and the reaction of few soldiers. One Major says, ``We are soldiers not by choice but because of our profession, if we do not kill the enemies they will kill us.`` Meera was coming back in plane and a scene of handing a person who talked with zero sensitivity about Kargil was well `handled` by Meera. She even used slang language against him. But I support her for that.
Other scene contained the point blank range shoot out of Jessica by a minister`s son Manoj Bhardwaj who was a son of a Haryana minister. The reason for the killing was denial of a drink when the drink time was over. When Jessica fell down and the floor was flodded with her blood, was a ......... scene, hard to explain it.
Now in the flash back ,Jessica is shown. Such a pretty girl and very Bindass type, just opposite to her sister Sabrina(Vidya Balan) I even liked the green half shirt and a half pant of blur jeans worn by Jessica.
But RIP board was put for her and the priest said, `` Give her life, peace and love in heaven``
But, my husband was heard saying, ``Look the Jessica family has a sky blue Zen``.. lol. within no time he again spotted a red Omni being driven by Rani Mukherjee... Oops( sorry @javeedahmedm , but I love using it more than you.) I liked Rani saying, ``Yehan boy friend banane kee phursat hee nahin hai pyar kya karoon?`` to her dad. Such a price a news reporter has to pay. Lol I am much better than her being a teacher ( Javeed must be happy too!!)
Next scene shows the promotion of Rani after the successful reporting of Kargil war. One of the collegue said, `` Tum ab celeberity baan gayi ho``. My husband looked at me expecting the same treatment for him, at least through eye contact. Lol he too is a celeberity on MS !!
In between the interrogation scene of Manish (prime accused..lol) shows how police was also bought. The Interrogating police officer was paid Rs 70 lakhs for not manhandling the accused. How they(politicians) manage to just throw that much amount for `small` reasons. The Inspector has come too good and quite natural fit for the role( sorry, I do not know, who played his role, pl do comment on my comment section.) He even recorded the voice on a hidden tape recorder. smart chap.
in between my celeberity husband spotted a Yejdi bike, Bajaj Chetak and a Black Safari SUV when the accused and his friends were running away from the scene.
The scene kept advancing and the number of witnesses reduced to 7 from 300. But, I liked the `honesty` of the inspector who took 70 lakhs just for no physical touch to the accused. He even said to Sabrina, ``Lete toh saab hain yehan, but more important is that kaun kees kaam ke liye leta hai``.
In between an `exciting adult scene` is given by Rani where your star writer was too much engaged!! The scene ended with Rani saying to his boy friend ``India is a free country and you are free to fly solo`. It was said when an emergency call came for her from her office. Poor journalist.
Now the court scene. Outside the court, My hubby spotted Mitsubishi Pajero of the minister..lol. Same happened as excepted, all witnesses turned hostile and the full process took many years and the accused was released on account of no credible evidence. Meanwhile Jessica mother dies out of shock and her father got hospitalised out of heart attack.
But, it so happens that Rani feels like to take up this case and nicely convinces her boss for doing so. Meanwhile I spotted a nice light chocolate colour jersy on Rani and my husband....... spotted Sony ericsson walkman phone with Vidya balan, Mac Laptop with Rani Mukherjee and Blackberry Bold with the minister.!! He also spotted driving Honda City by Rani with new Delhi Registeration...DL 4C... He also mentioned that Rani had Motorola Flip mobile. In one more scene we both liked the jogging of Rani Mukherjee in track suit half soaked in sweat. I wished I could be slimmer like her!!
The movie ends with justice for Jessica and she was spotted as a happy person in heaven.
