I had taken a health policy for my parents(both mother and father). Initially I had not planned to take any such policy but repeated visit of their representative made my parents lured to the false promises of the company.
Firstly the gave same policy number to my parents charging Rs 20,000 premium for each(total 40K). For two years I paid Rs 80,000/- total and in the second year, my mother had to undergo some minor surgery with some gyne problem. In initial report the doctor mentioned BP problem in history of patient; which was actually long back and mother had discontinued any medicine more then 5 years back. The company on this ground stating that the facts were hidden from them, not only refused to pay any amount but also forfeited the entire premium amount of my parents policy declaring it LAPSED.
Now the smart act they played was that since the policy number of my father was also same, thus they forfeited the premium amt of my father also. So not only I lost the entire Rs 40,000 of that year but also paid Rs 27,000 of my mothers surgery.
I raised several complaints that if at all that unintentional fault was found on my mother policy then atleast my father should not be penalized. How double punishment can be posed for a single fault(if at all it was).
They showed hundred rule and policy papers and bluntly refused to pay back my hard earned money.
Thus for benefit of all, I strongly recommend that please do not take any policy of this company as at the time of payment they have the audacity to give you hundred reasons to not to pay you.
I take it that I have donated my Rs 80,000 to some BEGGAR'S ASSOCIATION; as I do believe in social service.
Wish every body a healthy life - and avoidance from such fraud organisation.
