Max Bupa Health Insurance refuses to pay Breast Cancer Survivor in spite of Court Order
I feel its better not to invest your health with these so called ‘CONCERNED’ Health Insurance companies if they are the ones who are going to cause one all the pain & anguish!
In the year 2012, 18th of October, I had got diagnosed with breast Cancer and was operated thereupon within a week followed with Chemotherapy and Radiation therapy which ended on 30th April 2013. We had taken a family floater policy of Rs. 400,000 with MAX BUPA HEALTH INSURANCE in June same year.
After my treatment when we claimed the amount spent, MAX BUPA rejected our claim giving frivolous reasons. I approached the consumer court of Gurgaon in April 2013 asking for justice. The court passed the judgement in Nov 2015 in my favour, but still MAX BUPA HEALTH INSURANCE didn’t pay me within the stipulated time of 40 days. We then filed an execution which was also not adhered to by Max Bupa!
Its been 3 years post my treatment but I am still playing ping pong between our legal system and Max Bupa Health Insurance Company, who does not have the ethics to follow orders given by India’s Judiciary - much less the regard for its customers who trust the company with their health & finances.
