One needs to be very thorough while taking any polices from Max Bupa or any provider. Since Max Bupa was the first provider for me so sharing my experience.
I took family floater policy from Max Bupa in 2014. Had claim for first year and second year there was no claim. Agent sold me this policy giving all the reasons. All the time I was asking him why the charge is more but he did not tell me the real reason. Family floater charge is more as it includes maternity benefits. When I read more which I should have done earlier, got to know about this and then I requested Max bupa if I can switch to another policy as I do not need maternity benefits. He told me yes, it can be done. Since I did not claim and record is fine, so it should not be an issue.
When my renewal time came, I approached the max bup and they told me that doctors have rejected the switch option. Upon further inquiry on rejection reason, I was told it can not be shared.
These kind of cheating will keep happen till we take agents and proviate companies for granted. Lets read carefully and do not trust. My experience with Max Bupa for claim was good but not with the switch option
