This is my third year of policy for health coverage under "Silver" plan by max bupa. their renewal can also be a pain, I had to use my brothers Credit card to pay the premium( they did not accept any other option.) the first renewal I did as I was already under them.  I took the coverage right after my wedding and there is a 24 month waiting period  they do not have any office other than metro cities


I went for this Co from recommendation from policy bazaar and then they were the only Co. to respond and follow up the policy purchase. I was informed by the sales staff that under Blue if I go for 5lak+ 5Lakh floater I shall have limit of upto 5laks for each members treatment and 5 lakh floater for other contingency and I did.


my first claim happened now after the birth of my son with discharge time being 11 Am I was declined the claim after 4pm. for which I had to keep mother and child in hospital for another day as I will not bring first newborn son home after day end .the reason for no coverage of the newborn was that the hospital had not mentioned the birth height of child. and I had to pay from pocket and claim reimbursement. they paid only about 1/3rd of the bill of the delivery and claimed cap reached( this is when I came to know of the supposed cap) I was asked by customer care to file a reimbursement claim for this. the hospital obliged and issued a letter stating the breakup for the treatment and also that the procedure done was not associated to maternity but the Insurance fails to understand the differences between maternity and urological treatments( the asst manager went to the extent of calling the claim false).


I had to mail them every time with the reference Nos for any replies from the customer service/grievances.
