It was the time for my 2nd renewal i.e. coverage for the third year.


Unfortunately since I had bought it online through PolicyBazaar.com, though after extensive comparisons, such online comparisons don't give you the true full picture and you get carried away by the agents at this web portal, who are making good money.


And while talking to Max Bupa personnel I was flatly told that they are not their agents and so should not be held responsible for what PolicyBazaar people do and don't do with policy holders.


My grievances as communicated to PolicyBazaar.com(and I was under the impression that they would be forwarding them to MaxBupa - MaxBupa, themselves, remain out of sight for the full year and resurface when its time for renewal).




  1. I started off with some 50+K Rupees premium in the first year, it rose to some 53+K Rupees in the second year and this year I was told to pay 59+K Rupees for one year. If it keeps increasing like this with no claim being made so far, it would be a very high figure if I start having claims.




2.  I have doubts about services available given the fact that my simple querries like where and how to get the annual free medical tests done, have gone unanswered and the company literally goes silent after the premium is collected till the next premium gets due.




  1. I don't know the answer to my question " What if a claim is made in a year, whether the premium in the forthcoming years would increase depending upon the amount of claim made in the current year'.




Today I got a call from Max Bupa on the renewal of my policy. I told him about certain issues that I had raised with PolicyBazaar.com. I was told that they are in no way related to MaxBupa and all of my dealings with PolicyBazaar.com cannot be linked to them. He further wanted to elaborate his point by saying how we buy mobile phones from shops.


The person did not even bother to ask about my grievances. He simply told me "If you don't want to renew the policy, don't do it, but don't give any excuses for doing so".


There were two different people from MaxBupa who talked to me on this subject, but in both the cases, I could very well feel the arrogance in their dealings. If such arrogance during renewal of policies, then better forget you will get any of your claims settled. They will always find ways of how to sneak out.


My advice, don't buy any health insurance policies from PolicyBazaar.com unless you are very confident about the contents of the policies and also stay away from MaxBupa because of their arrogance.
