NISHCHAIYYYYYY. Review on Nishchay

I had just read a review of "SALMAN KHAN" and found many SALMAN fans there like MISS.CHINTU, ANUSHREE, FILMFREAK etc. Also I found that all SALMAN movies have been reviewed on mouthshut except for NISHCHAIY. so I thought to fill in the blanks. The main reason why this movie is of significance to me is O.P NAYYARS souful musical score.

This was his last hindi movie before he took permanent retirement. Thanfully his music is the only thing worth mentioning abt the movie. otherwise movie is a dud. ok, lets start with the boring and stale story. VINOD and SALMAN are brothers(age difference abt 20 years, wow). VINOD works at a businessmans place.God knows what work he does, taking his memsaab for a horse riding, taking english tutions from her, taking her out for a tanga ride, cleaning the garden. naturally any husband will feel that hes carrying on with his wife, so does the businessman.

SO does he. SO hE makes a plan to falsely implicate VINOD KHANNA for a rape and murder(commited by GOGA KAPOOR). VINOD goes to jail for 12 years, comes out in search of his brother and remaining movie((if u dont sleep out of boredom) is how the brothers reunite, baddies get killed etc etc. ok, now lets get on with the review, (if u ppl havent got bored): The script has many many loopholes. 1st of all, was rape and murder the only way to get VINOD KHANNA out of the way? Secondly, before the rape KIMI KATKAR comes to the place thinking that VINOD has come to meet her.How did all this happen? She sees a man there, and thinks its VINOD from behind.(infact shes already making plans with him to go to some mela.

ANd when the man turns behind, she is shocked to see GOGA KAPOOR.Comeon, anyone in her place shud have easily that it was not VINOD there(considering that GOGA wears same clothes throughout the film). AS usual our INDIAN law is shown to be villain, where the court merely believes the statement of a goon (whose actually done the murder) and posing as an eye witness to the case, and sentences VINOD to 12 years imprisonment. When VINOD meets SALMAN after many years, SALMAN doesnt recogize him the 1st time.Also surprising thing is that, how come SALMAN isnt even curious to know where his brother is after he has been adopted by REMA LAGOO. Instead after growing up he spends time, singing songs with KARISHMA KAPOOR, or fighting court cases. How does MAUSHUMI get back her memory so fast? One of the unintentionally funny scenes is when SALMAN-KARISHMA are romancing in a park, and all of a sudden KARISHMA asks SALMAN to comment on her nose.

My god, what was the director thinking? There are many more of these u will get to laugh at in the movie. Direction is really poor by ESMAYEEL SHROF.anywayz nothing else was expected from him, especially after his recent disaster TARKIEB. Performances: VINOD KHANNA: He is simply gr8 in the movie. KIMI KATKAR:she's just there for 3 scenes and really irritates. SALMAN KHAN:Much was expected from him after SAAJAN, but he hams here. KARISHMA: SHE was her worst ever wardrobe in this film. AND nothing much to do other than dance around trees with SALMAN: dont watch the movie, if u r a KARISHMA fan. MAUSHUMI:She has also given a gr8 performance, but has less scope in 2nd half. others like GOGA KAPOOR, RAJEEV VERMA, SAEED JAFREY, REEMA GILL, are just ok and are merely there for the sake it. MUSIC by O.P NAYYAR is fabulous.especially songs like DEKHO DEKHO TUM, KISI HASEEN YAAR KI TALASH HAIN, AND NAYEE SURAHI TAZAA PANI were remembered for years. Sad that a legend like O.P NAYYAR, gave up music after this movie. But the picturisation of songs was poor and the choreography too. This movie was one of the forgetten flops of SALMAN BHAI, after he bounced back with HUM AAPKE HAIN KAUN in 1994. But still being a fan, I felt it necessary to post a review here. I hope that ppl like my 1st review here, and also hope SALMAN fans here share their experiences of this movie. its fun discussing flop movies rite?
