NIshabd is a potent mixture of power, emotions, love and sensibility, It is an extremely thought provoking movie that gives us a glimpse into the life of a person who's with his family, yet alone and lonely. The potentially explosive situation is treated in such a way that age no longer seems to be the issue.such is the power of the narrative and its main protagonists. Undeniably, Nishabd is one of RGV's most accomplished and personal works till date.

The storyline is simple, yet intriguing in the way it is presented. An Older man-young woman realtionship is not really new on the Hindi screen, but RGV gives the movie its own soul. So we're taken to the breathtakingly beautiful Munnar in Kerala where Vijay(AMitabh), a photographer by profession, stays with his wife(revathy). Their daughter and her friend(Jiah Khan) come to stay for vacations. The story is about the "fatal attraction" between Vijay and Jiah and how it affects their life.

Nishabd seeks to know the reasons as to why Vijay did what he did, was it his loneliness, his desire to go back to his youthful exuberance, or to put it simply- Jiah's charm/sex appeal? Perhaps it's all the above.Vijay is driven to suicide by his emotions which he pours out to the audience from time to time as he narrates his tale, in a truly creative touch by RGV.

One might feel a bit let down by the end.RGV does not give a final culmination to the love story in the true sense of the word, perhaps caught in a dilemma due to the bold theme.but nonetheless makes up for it by the acute sense of sensitivity he imparts to the narration.

Nishabd would not have been what it is without Amitabh bachchan, no other actor could've made this performance as mature, as riveting and as fresh as he has. Here is a portrayal that is as real and awe inspiring as it can get. Kudos to the Big B for a magnificent performance.

Jiah Khan is spellbinding. A sensational debut by this young girl- she makes the most of this opportunity and her portrayal is as refreshing as the mermerising locales of Kerala.an actor to watch out for!

RGV paints his canvas with vibrant greens, that almost seem inviting the odd couple to make the move.;) and the brilliant camerawork/movements is several notches above the ordinary. The background score catches the mood of the narrative perfectly and heightens the impact of many sequences, its fantastic!

Overall, a brilliant film. Give it a try.
