Nirma Institute of Technology draws much of its inspiration and strength from its founder, Shri Karsanbhai Patel, a recipient of the “Udyog Ratna” and “Gujarat Businessman – 1998” awards, best known for his contributions to the industrial developments in the country. The Foundation established Nirma Institute of Technology, the first self-financed multi-disciplinary engineering institute in Gujarat, in 1995 on the auspicious day of Dussera. Ever since it was founded by Shri Karsanbhai Patel, chairman of NERF, Nirma Institute of Technology has registered a mind-boggling progress. It has carved a niche in the field of technical education through its insistence on diligence, discipline, punctuality and regularity – the sterling virtues dear to our founder. Its fame has transcended the geographical boundaries, and the students who value excellence and quality in education, are making a beeline to seek admission to this prestigious institute.

To give an excellent education to the students, and raise their performance at the university level is of course, one of the major tasks of the college. However, the college does not stop at this level and the students are continuously involved in numerous and highly versatile activities so as to bring out their talents, make them aware of their potential strengths. The department continuously strives to mould out of their students not only good engineers but highly responsible and strong individuals of the state. The dedicated staff-members keep themselves updated about the recent developments in the field, apart form the curriculum of the Gujarat University and are always to share their knowledge. Students are provided exposure to the environment and the problems of the industry and the academics, the medium being the experts from the industries and top technological consultants. The students are also individually counseled by their faculty counselor for their potential and career development.

One thing about the college that really impressed me was the way the delegates are welcomed over here. Instead of a bouquet of beautiful flowers the college welcomes them with a sapling that is then planted in the campus itself as an honour to them. This was the college no doubtedly looks greener and more lively.

The college is working towards the goal of par excellence.
