I played this game in a party in a hotel which advertises 'Motion-Gaming' on bilboards across Hinjewadi, Pune. At first, I didn't really understand what this motion-gaming thing is and ticked it off another spin-off of PS3/Xbox.

How wrong I was! The Nintendo Wii console comes with Wii Sports game which has 6 games to showcase its features to you. And believe me, it will hook you for a long long time! For those who live in cities and cannot get all your friends/kids/family members to go for a table-tennins round in a real playing area.

Wii offers all round real-life gaming experience with your mom, dad, kids and friends. It can really bring everyone together and give you a good exercise as well. Boxing is the most labour-intensive one and my brother just fell on the sofa in exhaustion after a few games with me!

It is a great way to exersive while you play and is so easy, even your grandma can play tennis with you! Try doing that with your Xbox! I bought the console package in London with Wii Console, Wii Sports Resort game (has 12 games in 1 CD), Wii Sports game (6 games in 1 CD), 2 remotes, 2 nanchuks (mainly used for boxing/cycling) and 2 Motion-Plus accessories for a total of GBP 250/- (Rs. 20, 000). (Bought from game.co.uk and picked from its London store)

Its been almost 1.5 months and we play it nearly everyday and all my friends throng my house for it. Its a great equaliser with all age-groups being able to play it and almost no learning-curve involved. The remote functions as a racket for TT/Tennis and you have to stand and swing it just like a real racket! For boxing, you have to hold the remote in one hand and nanchuk in another hand just like boxing gloves, and punch in front of you. Real good fun! You can play with upto 4 people at the same time (you will need 4 remotes/nanchuks for that).

I'd recommend it for those who'd like some fun at home with all family members and are not too bothered about high graphics or stories. It is not easily available in India. I found it being sold at Croma in Pune for Rs. 23, 000 just for the console. If I calculate the package that I brought from the UK, it would have costed around Rs. 28, 000 in Croma. So I saved Rs. 8, 000 for the package! The only caveat being that Croma offered a 1 year replacement warranty whereas my product only has a warranty in UK. Also, the games in India are US versions in most places and would not work on my UK console.

I saw another reviewer lamenting the fact that we spend thousands of rupees to buy this game to do something we can easily do in a TT-table for a tennis-court. I agree with him, but how many times can we do that, and can we do that with our entire family everyday! This is a small price to pay for some family fun at home!
