The Nikon D60 was added as a replacement model to D40X, but lacks a very important plus when compared to D40. As D60 was equipped with 10.2 MP, the sensor had to be made with smaller pixels, and higher density than D40. D60 is less sensitive to light then the D40 (its default ISO is only ISO 100 compared to the D40's default ISO of 200). The result is, D60 is half as light sensitive and has to use twice as long a shutter speed or a larger aperture, to avoid an under-exposed or blurry picture.
Excellent Manual Focus assist.
D60 lacks metering with manual focus lenses, but this feature comes in handy when manually focusing AF lenses.
I've used D60 with a range of lenses, VR and non-VR. My personal collection of lenses are 50mm f/1.8 Nikkor, 70-300mm Sigma(cheap, but very useful if used with a tripod), and the Kit Lens 18-55mm VR Nikkor.
The Image processor Engine Exspeed-I is great; and it renders the image well, with the D-lighting feature.
I love this Gadget.:)
Compared to the new entrants of its class, it has limitations, but its a really good camera, never gave me any trouble for these 3 years, and boasts a really good battery.
