Hello, Nikon D3300 is entry level beginner dslr camera. with some top notch feature. like 24mp APS-C(nikon) sensor which has no anti aliasing filter for even more sharper images and great performance due to faster processor. plus 1080p video recording @60 fps.
Design and Build Quality
Design is same as other dslr . but its feels nice in the hands and have comfortable grip. not too heavy. pretty compact size.
Image Quality Image Quality is FAnasultantastic for daylight and Night shots are impressive too. nikon D3300 also having better dynamic range and good details in shadow. your do not need HDR mode one most of the occasion. Upto ISO 3200 noise performance is really good which you wont find in canon entry level dslr. which is really good.
Video Quality
This is where Nikon D3300 is lacked and most of nikon dslr lacked. In video Quality nikon doesnot Silent auto focus. which hurts overall video recording due to noise of auto focus .during video. canon has STM lens which is really silent.
and nikon also did not provide aperture manual control during video. which is disappoints video grapher. however if you talked about apart from Noisy Auto focus. the image quality in video is good.
But hey you can solve noisy auto focus by using manual focus. if you are expert in it.
Performance
Performance is amazing . Expeed 4 processor handles navigation pretty great. no lags or stuttering. you can shoot at 5fps . which helps in shooting sports.
User Interface
User interface is easy to use but not as easy as canon offerss. due to no touch screen UI is not among the best. but not bad.
Other features and Battery life
battery life is decent. no issue. Auto mode is really good. and offers best experience. if you dont know manual mode.
lenses are good . Vibration reduction works well.
Conclusion
Nikon D3300 is great cameras in budget . price is little high but worth it.
I would say you ignore canon if you are planning to buy entry level dslr. because this give more output than canon. depsite having issues in video recording. I assume. entry leve buyers are not buying for video shooting.
