There are certain aspects of digital cameras that attract me towards them. First is their ease of use, and the second is their compatibility with computers and the ease with which one can upload the photo on the internet and share it with friends and family.
So, after much of R&D and consulting with the “experts” (they are my friends!) I settled in for Nikon Coolpix S5 as the design looked cute and the camera was as slim as any of the modern day supermodels!
The camera is so slim and compact because for functions like battery recharging and USB connectivity, a whole different ‘coolstation’ is provided. So, the camera has place for a big LCD screen and a slim look!
Nikon Coolpix S5 has many amazing features for starters. First, it has a 2.5 inch LCD monitor that makes life easier when taking pictures and shooting videos. Then, it lets you choose from 15 scene modes that pretty much covers all your requirements. You can also choose the image size and quality based on your requirements.
Talking of the image sizes, the camera comes only with a 21 MB internal memory. If you are looking to take a lot of pictures and shoot lots of videos, this is not enough. You need to go for a 1 GB card as I did. That will cost an extra 1000 bucks taking the overall cost of the camera slightly higher.
Another unique feature of Coolpix S5 is its pictomotion feature. Pictomotion feature allows you to play a slideshow in the camera with pre-set, royalty free music!
And now, the disadvantages.
Even though the camera looks slick, it’s not very difficult to handle. You fear it might pop out of your hand any time. Next, the buttons are so small that sometimes you just can’t press them! Also, it may not please advance level camera users as it has very few manual controls.
So, if you are a ‘shoot-at-sight’ person looking for a easy to use camera which gives professional looking output, Nikon Coolpix is just the camera for you!
