Just bought this camera. Got to know about this by a friend. Seems to be a good camera as for now. Let me share you its pros and cons and my experiecne with this camera.
> It is basically a 16.1 MP camera with 42x zoom. It gives better picture quality then normal 16 MP camera. It has lens of 4.3-180 mm(35mm [135] format angle of view: 24-1000 mm), which are good enough. However, zoom is slow.
> It has lens shift vibration reduction for better pictures. Also has motion detection for blur reduction. Due to this it captures nicely moving objets also.
> Image size in pixel includes 16M [4608 x 3456], 8M [3264 x 2448], 4M [2272 x 1704], 2M [1600 x 1200], VGA [640 x 480], 16:9 12M [4608 x 2592], 16:9 2M [1920 x 1080], 3:2 [4608 x 3072], 1:1 [3456 x 3456]. You can choose according to the requirement.
> It has a 7.5(3-in.) cm monitor with approx. 921k-dot, wide viewing angle, vari-angle TFT LCD with anti-reflection coating. Which I think is sufficient for this camera.
> It also has internal memory of 90 MB. Which is less but it supports SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards. However, it does not supports MMC i.e. Multi Media Cards.( I don't know why)
> It has a Hi-Speed USB for connectivity. Data is really fastly transfered to the laptop.
> Comes with a Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL5 with charging AC Adapter EH-69P. It also has option of AC Adapter EH-62A and Battery Charger MH-61. Relatively it has a average battery life. Gives a usage of about 240 shots. So, you will need a back up.
> The built quality of the camera is good. It weight is approx. 555 g. Easy in holding and carring. Other box products includes USB Cable UC-E6, Audio Video Cable EG-CP16, Camera Strap AN-CP21, Lens Cap LC-CP24 and ViewNX 2 Installer CD.
I really loved this camera. And I will also suggest it to buy before comparing in with other brands like Canon or Sony, as it has price of around 50k.
