I am very very disappointed by the GPS on this camera. Takes a long time to fix a location, and if I'm walking around, don't take a picture for a while and just snap what I want, it seems to have lost its fix. I bought this camera so I would have to synchronize it with my GPS tracker, but I'm back where I started.
Can the GPS be shut off on the Nikon P510 or other cameras with GPS? Some hidden museums don't want their locations given out to the public or people with collectable cars! Does the P510 nikon or the Canon have setting modes for color, black & white & sepia? I have a old Kodak DX7630 camera that has the color settings that is great for the nostalgi look, but it wont let me use my sd card anymore. It says needs formatting? Time for a new camera, but I'm old school & have a tough time figuring out all the insane setting on newer cameras. I love my Kodak camera & its easy to use features! But the lithiun battery is going bad & I can't use the sd card in it any more. I can only take 28 pics at a time & than download them to my computer. I really want to buy a new camera, but with so many camera choices it's too confusing! I need a camera thats great for landscaping shots, night shots & close up shots for collectable items. Having the different color settings is fantastic for various pics. Can the star, polarized filters from my old Minolta x700 be used on the Nikon P510 lens or a Canon camera with the features of the Nikon? Can you please help me out? I am so confused & get sick & tired of going in stores in search of a new camera! Digital cameras are awesome because money isn't being thrown away on bad pics that don't come out. Thank you!
