This is really Cool. Review on Nikon Coolpix P1

I'm not an expert photographer nor did I ever think of becoming one. But I was always fascinated about digicams and camcorders and iPods and all such gadgets. I always wanted to own a digicam, but since they're expensive, my dream continued to be a dream until recently, when I happened to strike a great deal. And now I thank God for making me wait this long to buy a digicam.

I got this really cool model of Nikon called Coolpix P1 (the latest is a P4 I guess). I was going through its features and whoa! there are too many of them. Even if you're not a professional photographer but a person with interest in photography, this digicam will definitely incline you towards becoming crazy over clicking snaps.

You would not stop clicking the shutter thus trying to take pictures of whatever you see. You would want to take a snap of anything you see...such is the imagination power you tend to develop with this little piece in your hand. The Nikon coolpix P1 is an 8 megapixel camera with a 3.5 mm with face priority AF and a Wi-Fi facility. Not many cameras come with a Wi-Fi feature and even if they do, do not live up to their performance expectations.

Nikon Coolpix P1 can deliver the Wi-Fi performance like an effortless task if you have a firewire enabled laptop or desktop. Transferring pictures to your PC will never be the same - just name your camera's Wi-Fi signal and your PC's Wi-Fi signal. Once done, the next thing you'll see is those two devices talking to each other and all you do is simply stare in awe.

Next, you may be wondering about the camera's memory capabilities. Well, it supports a 2 GB SD memory card and that means tons of pics if you're using a lower MP rsolution. If you want to utilize the power of 8 MP for all your photos, you'll still manage to grab about 450 pics in 2 GB - isn't that too much - I think 450 pics can cover one whole wedding album.

One thing to remember - Memory cards can cost a bomb so be careful and selective while deciding upon a memory card. I would suggest that you buy a memory card based on your need and not just because you want to fill the full capacity of 2 GB. It is the memory card which takes up almost half the price of the camera. Point to note - Nikon Coolpix P1 does NOT come with the memory card - you'll need to buy the memory separately.

Well, now let's talk about the video. Obviously, as the name suggests it is a digital camera and not a video camera - but you can still grab a quick video if you think you don't want to miss the memories of the situation. Video mode comes in these types - 640*, 640 TV, 320 PC & 160 PC (maybe I missed one out). All in the 640 range will occupy a whooping multiple MB space for a clip as small as 5-8 minutes; and with all other modes, the picture quality is worst withthe picture display being very small. I personally don't recommend video shooting with this camera.

The camera is robust to most climatic conditions, but not to wet & humid ones. So, if you want to take a go on this one, I suggest you do. This is one of the best deals you'll never forget to have made. Highly efficient, ease of use, high quality and value for money are some of the attributes for this camera. Hope this amuses you.
