Nikon Coolpix 5200 Digital Camera
I always wanted a good digital Camera; so when time came for me to get one I asked a shopkeeper friend who deals in all kinds of Electronics goods to get me one. He rang me up a few days later and gave me a Nikon Coolpix 5200 and assured me that there was no camera better in its class and at that price. He charged Rs. 20,000/= for it and also got me memory card of 256 MB capacity for Rs. 3000/=.
I was still skeptical about the camera. It is so tiny with so many features and I was a greenhorn. So I drove upto a photographer friend of mine and told him that I contemplated buying a digital camera; would he recommend the best brand available in the market.
Unhesitatingly he said, “Go for a Nikon with 3.1 pixels. You will never regret it.”
I asked him “how about Coolpix 5200?”.
“ That is a wonderful one, it has 5.1 megapixels. But a bit expensive. Would be around Rs.22,000/= without a memory card.”
I told him that I had already bought one. I could see his look of envy and respect.
I know nothing about photography; but people who have seen the pics clicked by me think that I am an ace photographer. I have clicked more than 3000 pictures with it. Each picture is a classic. Pictures are very sharp and jump at you. My pics are now beginning to appear in magazines. The credit should go to the camera and not to me.
The camera has video provision for three minutes with audio facility. The video and audio are so clear. It is a visual treat fit for the connoisseur. The Camera has nine modes for shooting pics. It uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, provided with a camera. All the standard accessories are provided with the camera.
The camera has 12 MB internal memory. However it is better to buy a memory card. I bought a 256 MB SanDisk memory card for Rs. 3000/=. At Normal shooting mode you can click about 220 pics without the memory card getting exhausted. If you are a professional photographer, it is better to buy an additional memory card. You could also keep an additional lithium-ion battery if you are covering big events like weddings etc.
I hope that I have covered most of the important aspects of the camera. In the U.S. where I am staying now, it has proved to be of immense use to me. I shall gift it to my grand-daughter when I leave the U.S. I hope to pick up another one in India when I reach there.
