Hey folks........

I had been on a trip to Niagara Falls a year ago. Long time, I know, but my heart still beats with enthusiasm whenever I spare a thought to this magnificent splendor. When I came back I wrote a poem about my experience. Hope you enjoy it! Please remember that this review only describes my feelings as I went close to the Falls. It does not give any other information on Niagara Falls..............if you are still interested, read on!

NIAGARA FALLS

Water, sparkling white, snaked through high rocks and joined the sea,

As I watched from the “Maid of the Mist,” in glee.

My boat jerked and waded slowly,

And I got closer and closer to eternity.

I looked around, drenched in droplets of water,

And smiled, as I anticipated one of the seven wonders.

Wet, I heard the birds chirp and smelt the breezy flowers,

As I waited at the gateway to paradise with immense ardor

The mist cleared and I looked up in awe,

My heart stopped, as I couldn’t believe what I saw.

Creamy white masses, all around me, gushed down without a flaw

With great force, as my soul thawed.

A rainbow spread itself in evening sunshine

As droplets sprayed on us; I was on cloud-nine

In the midst of roaring ripples, I straightened my spine

And stood still, savoring the moment divine

Tears of joy bloomed in my eye,

And blinked, as my body immersed a sigh

I just stared at the awesome sight, tongue tied,

And thanked God for that beauty against the blue sky

I heard the crowd happily cheer,

But then our boat veered.

I kept looking at it with an expression dear,

The sound of the flowing water, music to my ear.

We went farther and farther, out of paradise,

And suddenly nothing seemed nice,

I felt lonely, bereft, and cold, just like ice,

As I couldn’t stop wondering about the splendor without a vice.

In the future, whenever I recall,

My heart will race, as I’ll always be enthralled.

With that velvety water, smooth and tall,

As I can never forget my trip to NIAGARA FALLS!!!
