Lodges in Tiruttani New Woodlands. Review on New Woodlands Hotel, Chennai

I stayed in'New woodlands lodge'(Tiruttani). The term deluxe is mocking. It is a lodge run by brutes who treat the pilgrims as dogs.They cheat the customers with good looking front office.

We booked 2 A/C rooms. The toilets were unclean. We asked the manager to send a person to clean the toilet. But he acted like a mad man and without answering he starred at me and went away. The toilet has no separate bucket and the cup. Flush does not work in toilet. The bucket that was provided in bathroom was broken and leaking.We could not use that bucket.We bought our own bucket and mug just for 2 days we stayed.  There was a window on the top of the toilet which has no doors and in the next cinema hall construction work was going. Imagine how much fear would my family girls could have while using toilet and bathroom though my wife helped them to hide. It was really a embarrassing moment for all of us.

There was always noise because of the construction work and cinema hall. The bed sheet was not washed. So we asked to replace and it was not done. There was lot of garbage and dirty things under the bed. Instead of sweeping properly the garbage was pushed under the bed so that it would not be visible at first site)There where liquor bottles and dirty things near the window of the room. The tables and chairs were dusty. Pillow does not have any cushion material inside it . It has only some waste materials inside it. So it is not easy to keep our head on it. The bed either does not have any cushion material. It has coir peeking outside which create bruises on our body. Foul smell comes from toilet and no proper drainage. Fans run slow and lot of mosquitoes. And when the tube light was on, it makes a lot of noise due to some wiring problems or choke problem. You are not allowed to roam freely with in the lodge to get some fresh air during power cuts.

I asked the manager to send room boy to get some water and tea. He told they won't provide fresh water and no person called room boy works there to buy tea. While drinking tea, it fell on the floor outside our room. The manager asked us to clean the floor which is caused because of our negligence and as he is the only staff in the lodge without any room boy. While booking the manager promised of using generator. But after booking 2 rooms for 2 days the power goes off just after 5 mins. We asked the manager to on the generator or else we have to vacate the room. He told that we could very well vacate the room but would not refund any amount. We told that we would take legal action. But he told us that owner is a person of high influence and a pillar of Tirutani temple and we create any legal issues we have to face dire consequences. He also told that they would run generators only in late evening times when pilgrims book the rooms as told by the owner. Thus owner cheats the pilgrims by creating the image that they would run generators all the time. On the first day the power went off 5 times. Each time it took 120 to 150 minutes to come back and on the 2 day it was total shut down.

These people harass the pilgrims with their might and good external appearance of the lodge. Lord Muruga will teach the the people of new Woodlands(Tirutani) a lesson as they treat the Gods sons and daughters as stray dogs and exploit their money.
