An Unbelievable Ungraceful Unreal Polymerized Film is “NEW”. Greatly appreciated for his excellent movies like “Kushi” starring Vijay and Jyothika, “Vaali” starring Ajit in a dual role and Simran, with “NEW” S.J. Surya has really made a fool of all the Gollywood Fans.

“NEW” – The Warning

Read on only if you are 16 +

“NEW”The Story

An 8 year old boy named “Pappu” completely frustrated by his perpetually scolding & battering mother, decides to commit suicide, but being rescued by a Scientist Manivannan, who converts Pappu (8 year old boy) to “Vichu” (a 28 year old man, which is S.J. Surya obviously). But the mind of this 28 year old man continues to remain 8 year old. With the new physique the boy keeps roaming about, but when he comes to know that his mother Deivayaani is in deep sorrow on her son missing, he realizes that her mother had been too strict with him only for his sake, and hence comes back to the Scientist and requests him to convert him again to the 8 year old boy. But as the Scientist’s fails to do that, the Scientist makes S.J. Surya to appear an 8 year old boy in the mornings and a 28 year old man in the nights.

In the meantime, revealing the Director’s usual masala touch, heroine Simran falls in love with S.J. Surya, who works at a Toy Mart. With the help of the Scientist S.J. Surya appears a 28 year old man whenever he meets Simran. Hero and the heroine sing romance melodies and get married. Unable to involve her husband in sex despite her very hard struggles, Simran finally & continually does it herself on him (??) and gets conceived. Does she gets to know that her husband is just a 8 year old boy …….. & did S.J. Surya gets back his 8 year old looks & what happens to Simran’s life ……. are all the rest of the story !

My Head is Spinning while reading the story just written by me …… with the same spinning, lemmee just finish off with this review soon…. Again strictly if you are 16 + you could please read on ……..

“NEW”The Characters

S.J. Surya : Has tried his maximum level possible to present innocent expressions despite his odd & old face, but unfortunately fails in his attempt. He could have concentrated a little more on his make-up, he looks literally like a 48 year old man instead of 28 !! His seriously trying to finish off his Mathematics homeworks during nights while Simran sleeps … pardon me, I don’t know how to whistle for this great (??) performance of S.J. Surya.

Simran: Slim & Sexy & Stunning, that’s Simran. But where is the Simran’s we have admired & appreciated in Nerukku Ner, V.I.P., Vaali, Kovilpatti Veeralakshmi & Kannathil Muthamitaal ? She has been given very less food for her acting skills. Yet, as usual, she is an added charm to this masala movie mix.

Deivayaani: The only thing she has successfully done in “NEW” is smacking her 8 year old on his head. Err.. she has also successfully passed in her firm attempt to produce a very severe headache to the spectators by her own dubbing voice

Characterizations :

While all the characters in the entire movie itself is a lugubrious deep disgrace to a Husband, A Wife, A Mother and every South-Indian Woman, what else do you really expect to be the Flaws in this movie? S.J. Surya on his part tries his best to show dreadful & fearful expressions in order to show himself as an innocent person, Simran on her part is killing us with her jealousy (?) on Kiran, Deivayaani fortuitously makes even the most healthiest spectators bed-ridden with her own slaying voice (why this experimentations lady?),

Naazar is the most strewn character (Naazar, have you acted in this movie free of cost?). Karunaas, Aishwarya (not the Jeans Ash) are a few other wasteful characters. Obviously the continual double-meaning dialogues are highly annoying.

Story :

Almost the whole story / screenplay is a total flaw. A few queries remaining unanswered:

• Small boy converted into a man without the mental development – how could an 8 year old brain admire the sexy curves and the lovely physique of the heroine and fall in love with her ?

• Nowhere in the movie do you see S.J. Surya going to school after he is married to Simran. Then, for whom is he so hurriedly trying to finish off with his mathematics homeworks while Simran is sleeping ?

Scenes :

• S.J. Surya’s dresses falling down frequently which indicates (according to the director) that he has turned into 8 year old (pls. don’t pierce our ears once again, we already are wearing earrings)

• Simran’s forceful sex scenes with S.J. Surya and she really really irritates us pals when she unkindly drags the home-work doing husband to bed & in scenes where she herself zestfully acts on him !

• Deivayaani once, twice, no no thrice, no no four times harey… leave it na, her only job in the movie is to batter her son on his head (hey, better undergo a tuition to us to learn how to bring up your child)

• Kiran unfortunately frightens us to the core with her up and down shaking pot-belly (Kiran, were you about 9 months pregnant while acting in New ?)

  • Enough Pals … I am just gasping for breath …. Hush Hush Hush Hush Hush…….. let’s proceed……..

“NEW”The Positive Side of the Coin

Music :

The most positive aspect of this Film is the wonderful excellent marvelous & ravishing music by A.R. Rehman. “Thottaal Poo Malarum” has fast beats which cheers up even the downhearted set of audience, “Kaalaiyil Dinamum…” is a wonderful bang-up melodious song on a ‘Mother’, the highly romantic peppy “Chakkarai Innikirai Chakkarai …..” could be heard again & again & again any number of times without getting bored !!

Camera :

K.V. Guhan has excelled in cinematography especially in “Chakkarai Innikirai Chakkarai …..” & “Thottaal Poo Malarum……” and in general in almost all the songs. As for the entire movie, he might have concentrated a little better as even a layman could find flaws in the general lighting system all through the movie. Anyway, good attempt by Guhan !!

Others Behind the Screen :

Editing by Antony & the songs are an ideal examples of his dedication. The choreography on the whole is too good in most of the songs. Peter Hein keeps proving himself over and again in fighting sequences.

“NEW” – Yes, New in Illogicality, New in poor presentation, New in poor expressions, New in awkwardness ……… this way the movie “New” is very New to the Gollywood !! It’s upto you to see or skip this ‘New Disaster to our Traditional & Cultural Ethics’ !!
