I came across this small Punjabi restaurant in Sikh village, Secunderabad (Near Spencer's) when I was just passing by. And now I am a regular customer of this restaurant. Simple reason - Good food for less price.The restaurant has 2 sections - AC and Non-AC.
The prices on the menu are slightly higher in AC section (about 10% more). The restaurant serves both veg and non-veg food of various cuisines such as Chinese, Mughlai, Punjabi, Continental. The prices are reasonable for almost all the items except few. I found the egg items too overpriced.
For example, scrambled egg is priced at Rs. 55. Otherwise the prices are optimum. Lots of options in veg curries. There are about 10 paneer curries, mixed veg, mushroom , potato curries, dals, etc. The prices of veg curries are in range of 40-70 Rs and the quantity served is sufficient for 2 persons.
I generally order paneer dishes and I found them very tasty. Paneer is fresh and soft. Go for Ginger Paneer. The people who like spicy curry will love it.There are about 15 types of rotis available like Tandoori, Naan, Lachha paratha, Kulchas, stuffed parathas, etc.
Tandoori roti is priced at Rs. 7 and Kulcha is priced at Rs 22. Rotis are well cooked and the size is also very good. I didn't try any rice items but I am sure they will be good, because I have seen many other customers ordering rice items. In the drinks, they serve Lassi and other soft drinks. I didn't like Lassi.
May be because it was not cold. The service is prompt even though they have only 1/2 waiters.What I don't like about the restaurant is the handwash section.
There is a handwash basin only and that too inside the kitchen section. That is very dirty. The ambiance is also not very good, but that is expected of a small dhaba style restaurant. I think at that price, you can get that kind of ambiance only.
Overall its a good restaurant for a casual dinner when you don't want to shell out much money for good food. Visit there once and I am sure you wont come out disappointed.
