Atlantic City, NJ is a great place to visit every now and then. It's a short drive (only 3 hours or so) from my house on Long Island, and it's relatively inexpensive. That, of course, depends on if you know where to eat, visit, and stay.

The main attraction of Atlantic City is the Boardwalk. There are casinos lining it, various restaurants, lots of shops, and even a little amusement park at the end of it. There's a tiny little pizza place by the Tropicana (whose name I just can't remember) that has the best pizza I have ever eaten.

If you become a member of any of the casinos' frequent players clubs, you'll get lots and lots of discount (if not free) room offers. For example. I just received something from the Atlantic City Hilton that offered me a room for two at only $39 per night, as well as a free room from the Taj Mahal. I have stayed for free at places such as Sands, Tropicana, Bally's, and many other hotels in Atlantic City. Using your card whenever you play is certainly worth the rewards you receive.

There are tons and tons of places to eat on the Boardwalk and in the casinos, including many buffets. The Epic Buffet (located inSands) is the best buffet in the area. It has absolutely everything! I've been there for breakfast and lunch, and I have always left happy. (It's also relatively inexpensive, too, especially if you have your Sands MVP Card!) The Planet Hollywood and Hard ROck Cafe there aren't half-bad, either.

If you don't like to gamble, you can always enjoy the beach, see a show, or visit the Ripley's Museum. Showboat, which is located all the way at the end of the Boardwalk, is a great place to check out if you don't want to gamble. There's usually a live band playing, and all sorts of shops and entertainment.

I like going to Atlantic City with my mother. It's a place that all different ages can enjoy. Whether it's just me and my mom, me and Dionne, or a whole group of my friends and family, I always have a good time.
