My apologies if this review sounds like a personal account instead of a travel guide, but having spent the majority of my school years in Delhi, I cannot help but discuss it from a personal viewpoint.

The historical significance, geography and weather are beyond the scope of my review. I arrived in Delhi at the impressionable age of 15 and stayed there till I left for college. The city has a lot of facilities not available in many cities. Libraries, museums, stadiums and playgrounds, religious variety and indifferent people. Yes, I mention this as an advantage because you can pretty much do whatever you want as long as it is legal.

Delhi is also very inspiring. A drive along Shanti Path makes you want to go visit all these countries whose embassies are on display. If you are searching for knowledge, there are a bunch of libraries and museums. Delhi also hosts the IIT and four other universities. The schools are quite reputed, although the students aren't exactly the brightest in India.

The other aspect of Delhi worth mentioning is shopping. Almost all the places have their own self-sufficient shopping complex, but most notable shopping centres are South Extension, Karol Bagh, M-block market, Sarojini Nagar Market, Lajpat Nagar market, Connaught Place, Jama Masjid and Nehru Place. On a recent trip to India, me and my wife realized that you can get almost everything in Delhi as in Dallas, and at the same rate.

Another point of focus is food. You can most certainly obtain various kinds of food from any place in India. International cuisine has still not caught up, but that seems to be a matter of taste.

All this being said, I would also like to point out Delhi's bane. It is the huge number of rowdy people. I have seen teenagers who misbehave with elder women. Delhi is definitely not a safe place to venture out after 9 pm. That, coupled with a trying climate, will discourage the occasional visitor. The huge number of vehicles had made it one of the most polluted city in the world, but Delhi has made a lot of progress trying to clean up its mess.

I will definitely recommend the reader to visit this place at least once. Please take lot of money with you when you go.
