“Pyaar kaise hota hai, yeh pyaar kaise hota hai?” questioned Shahrukh’s beloved in Mohabbatein. Love is selfless, love is blind…we hear so much about it everyday. But is love considered to be what it was all those years ago? I think the feelings are the same, just the way they are expressed are different! And the music from the new film Neal N Nikki are exactly what I’m talking about when I say love has a new meaning…

Fun N Flirty

Lets start with the title song, surprisingly called Neal N Nikki. K ke baad N syndrome experience karne ke liye tayyar ho jaayiye…

When you first introduce yourself to someone, what kind of things do you say about your self? I bet no one has come up with the totally amaZzzing idea of writing a rhyming couplet about themselves. Err…I know people write poetry about their loved ones, but how vain can you get to write some about yourself? ;P And if you think I’m the Neal, I’m the man, rockstar, superstar is bad, wait till you hear Nikki Bakshi, sweet and sexy, full-on rocking, hot and happening!

The tune is quite catchy, if you like that kind of thing. Shweta Pandit’s voice suits the song well, and KK could sing any rubbish and make it sound good. The little dialogues in the middle are quite amusing, telling the funny kathas of young love. You have to listen to this track, just to listen to the “you had the hots for your teacher??? Weirdo!!!” :P

Sadly true love is one of the things Google.com can’t find. It’s all up to you and your destiny! Or you could listen to Halla Re to give you some inspiration…

This has a bouncy background tune to it from the start, and it’s maintained throughout the track. This is covered with the more typical Bollywood song music, and a touch of salsa. Sung really well by Shweta Pandit again, with raps in between. The lyrics are different – without the paayal and kanganaa, bindiyaa, etc this time! The traditional elements in juxtaposition with some English wordings too prove to be very effective. So enjoy listening!

Sweet N Innocent

You know there was a typical lovey-dovey track coming up somewhere. Well after all, the movie is about Neal aNd Nikki, and they have to fall in love sometime in the film! :P I’m in Love is slightly slower and relaxing than the previous two tracks. Its beautifully sung by Sonu Nigam paired with Mahalaxmi Iyer. I especially liked the way some parts of another song (Just Wanna Spend my Life With You) are blended in. The rest of the lyrics seem too over-heard…but I guess you have to be in love with someone to understand them fully. :)

Dancing N Dreaming

Hearing a Punjabi song in every Bollywood album is becoming a habit now. Sometimes I think Punjab doesn’t get enough credit for the great source of music it produces! This song is called Akh Ladiye And of course, its about dancing yet again…So get up and dance. You’ll have fun and you’ll burn some calories too (although I don’t that’s the point of the song)! :P

The song is sung by Shweta Pandit, Kunal Ganjawala and Javed Ali. It starts off with the guitar, which is slightly unusual, and of course they had to carry on the legacy of using English words so there are lots of them too!

the Original Romantic!

Now we arrive at the great hullabaloo. You see, in a normal situation Ashi would definitely NOT approve of Bollywood trying to go all Hollywood by including so much English in the soundtrack. And I Just Want to Spend My Life With You is not even partly English, the whole song is in that language! A novelty to Indian cinema, the whole Disneyness of the melody, and I certainly would have had something against this untraditional element to a Bollywood…if only it wasn’t sooooo amazingly romantic!! That’s right, I can’t get enough of this song! I swear that if it was a human being then I would definitely have married it by now :)! But until that fantasy takes wings I guess I’ll be happy to hear someone singing it to me…any takers? :P Listen to it and let those lilting voices of Clinton and Dominique Cerejo take you to another world. So while I’m waiting for Mr Perfect to come and sweep me off my feet, here’s a few of the sweet sweet lyrics just for all you people:

Nice N Naughty

RemiX AlerT!! Some of these music album ingredients are becoming toooo repetitive! But I guess a remix of the title song is acceptable…they need something to fast for this fast world. I mean, they’ve even made a remix of Tere Liye from Veer Zaara! shock horror

I like this remix, its sounds proper DJ-d and danceable to! More music and masti (I’m starting to like this alliteration trend)!

And zat iz ze end mes amies! I am definitely gonna watch this movie. But I’m not really expecting much from it…after all, look what happened to Salaam Namaste… And anyway, if you expect anything from anything, you’ll always get disappointed!

I bet you didn’t expect to see Tanisha sashaying around in the clothes she’s wearing in the promos. Wait, are they even clothes? :P And this is a Yash Raj Production. What is this world coming too? Oh no, were all gonna DIE!!!….last wish…please RRC……. can’t breathe…..oxygen……
