A perfect honeymoon. Review on Naukuchiatal

We went for our honeymoon to Naukuchiatal in March, 2006. Before reaching there, we were lil doubtful about the place but it turned out to be simply marvellous. We were fascinated by the unexploited nature, serene blue lake, cool pleasant weather, tranquil environment and so much greenery surrounding us.

We stayed in an isolated log hut at Lake Resort which we had already booked in our package. Our cottage had all the amenities, a perfect ambience, an exclusive big lawn, a nice balcony, big glass window that just over-looked the lake and what not! The room-service and the warmth of the staff was amazing. The food was very delicious and we got all the variety we asked for. Being there, one simply forgets all the hustle and bustle of the city, the tiredness and tensions of normal routine.

Horse-riding and boating is available throughout the day at very economical rates. Boating is a great experience in Naukuchiatal. The lake is clean and serene, surrounded by green unexploited mountains. Fishing is also an adventure there. A walk around the lake in the late evening is really romantic. The lake boasts of good walking track scented with blossoms and birdsong. We also visited Nainital one evening to do some shopping etc. However, we missed being to Sattal. Getting back to the cozy comfortable cottage made us feel good.

I would recommend going by one's own taxi there. Its a great experience enjoying the meandering roads and mountains. And we promised ourselves to visit the place again next year to get relief from our tough and tense routine.
