I kept getting mails from Naukri to try our their Resume services. I thought I had a pretty decent resume in place yet wanted to check out what they had to offer. I tried buying the service online. There were some issues and the transaction didn't go through.
I didn't bother persisting as I was not really interested in the service. However, I immediately got a call from a representative inquiring what went wrong and offered me the option of buying it over the phone.
I was impressed with the immediate response and so thought I will opt for the service. I even went for the upgraded package as it offered the option of talking to a representative who would build my CV.
I provided all the information I asked for. The whole process was supposed to take 4 days. Yet even after a week there was no response. I finally called them up and was told I would have something by EoD. This didn't happen of course. Finally, after 2 days of continuous followups I received a really shoddy job.
The design was fine, and the language was OK. But the CV had nothing to do with the role I was aspiring for. I again went through the process of continuous follow-ups and finally after several days of threatening and banging my head against the wall I received an updated CV that was closer to what I had in mind.
However the only portion that had changed from my original CV was the introductory part. And even that was very generic. Paying 4k for communication with a representative didn't work at all.
All in all a complete waste of time, energy and money.
