I am computer science brance 2013 batch, NIT, Raipur passout student. I would as as it is not in top 10 NIT but it is far better that many colleges which comes before it in ranking just because of infrastructure and the Area of college. As NIT, Raipur is in chattisgarh and it is biggest misconception in india that in chattisgarh, Naksalis are everywhere so people dont prefer to send their loving kids to this college that is the second reason for down ranking.
But believe me or not the education level can not be matched by many of the top rankers.
Even if we compare the campus placement there are very few NITs which are close to NIT, Raipur. Specifically in mechanical brance. I dont think that this many companies would visit any other NITs that visit NIT Raipur. Even if you see GATE examination results all the misconceptions about NIT-Raipur will be washed out.
The accedemics program is very much effective there. The syllabus, the examination system everything is good.
The administration is also very creative and supportive in nature. They allow night Labs for the students who are willing to get extra practicle knowledge and many more things.
In extracurricular activities no body is stopping any student to find his own way and even they are always ready to support you to participate in some extracurricular activity. There are 2 fest organized per year one technical and one cultural- Eclectika.
Other than these two there are department wise fest also like Spark and all. You can show all your potential there.
Alumini network is very storng in NIT Raipur. Some PSUs directors are This college's alumini. Even wipro globle CEO Abidali Neemuchwala is NIT, Raipur passout.
I would recommend this college to everyone. You can get the good brance even after the back ranking.
