I had a very bad delivery experience in NH Hospital, whitefiled branch.
During my labour pain, I was asked to get up from ward bed and get on to the labour bed. Labour bed condition was really pathetic. There was no support available to hold hands which would help me push my baby during push process.the support which was there near foot also was loose, not sure if it was broken.as a result of this my delivery took more time. I was inside labour room for more than an hour. Because of the prolonged stay in labour pain, I lost strength to push my baby, finally gynaecologist had to do vacuum delivery. My baby got hurt on the upper part of the head and was in stress. He was monitored in NICU almost for 5 hrs.
Post delivery all the nurses and doctors left. Only one nurse was there busy in cleaning the instruments and labour room. After an hour or so they brought wheel chair and asked me to get up from labour bed and sit on to the wheel chair. I was in pain as had an episiotomy.but still I had to get up on my own with no one to support me. Only 1 nurse was there who also after request held my hand to support me. I was really worried that I would faint in so much pain. They were not even allowing my family members inside. Somehow I managed to sit on wheel chair. Again they asked me to getup from wheel chair and get on to the ward bed. I was not even able to move myself after an episiotomy and I was asked to get on to the high raised ward bed.on the top of this torture, no one was there to help me or support me.
After getting shifted to the ward, I was not even given towel bath after delivery.because of the delivery pain, I was not in a state of mind to think that I need to be cleaned as I may catch infection and it may spread to my baby.
Forget about me even my baby was not given even towel bath. After repeated requests, nurse gave towel bath only once and before leaving said that giving bath and potti cleaning is not their duty. It has to be taken care by family.
Was literally shocked with this type of treatment after spending so much for a private room and taking delivery package of almost Rs. 60000.
We complained to the hospital authority. They passed on the blame to the consultant gynaecologist saying that it's doctors responsibility to instruct the nurses to take care of all this.
Not sure if this was true.
I was actually showing some other gynaecologist. During last min due to the unavailability of my gyn I had to get my delivery done by Dr. Sreeja Rani.
Before discharge I was not even asked to follow up after 3 weeks.
I am deeply shocked by this treatment. I would not recommend any of my friends or family members to get treatment done in this hospital.
By God's grace my baby is doing fine now.
