Just I wanted to share information/feedback about Narayana Hrudayalaya hospital which is located near chandapura Hosur road Bangalore; it is really awesome hospital. My nephew was having small VSD problem when he born but we were not aware of this problem. When he had some like cold and cuff we used to go to general physician to take medicine but one has told us that child has some problem in heart. When we got this news from doctor our entire family got shocked.
Immediately his father gone to Patna to checkup in heart specialist hospital and they some test and came to know that my nephew has is having problem in heart and that is called VSD. And doctor suggested that you don’t worry about it and given advised that this hole will repaired automatic after 7-8 years then we got some relax. But my nephew was not gaining wait so we were still in doubt so again we have consulted doctor in Narayana Mahananda Jamshedpur(it is unit of Narayana Hrudayalaya Bangalore) and again all test done and doctor said VSD problem is there and he given advised for device surgery.
When I heard this news then immediate I called my brother in-law and told send all scanned copy of reports so we can take advice from Narayana Hrudayalaya since I am working in Bangalore in IT firm. He sent all scanned copy of reports and I took an appointment with Dr. Arul Narayanan. When explained and shown all details to the doctor then he also suggested for device surgery with all complication then I informed same to my brother in-law. We all have decided to go for surgery in Narayana Hrudayalaya Bangalore. After few days he came with my nephew and us gone to Narayana again to consult same doctor. As patient arrived then he wrote all necessary tests to be done. When report has come and saw doctor(Dr. Arul Narayanan) he got confused why because VSD problem was not at right position so device surgery was not at all possible. So again himself done the echography of the heart and got confirmation that device is not possible also he said how Jamshedpur doctor suggested for the device surgery. Finally he said we have to do open heart surgery to close this VSD again we all were very scared. Also he said there is urgent to do that if you want you can wait 6-9 months and let’s see any improvement but he said that time only that it is very less chances for any improvement.
However we don’t want to go for surgery immediate so we waited 8 months but my nephew gain the wait 3 kg in 8 months. Dr. Arul has given one tablet to gain wait for six months. After 8 months again they come for checkup but unfortunately Dr. Arul Narayanan has left that hospital and got information from reception counter that you can consult with Dr. Kiran VS. So we have shown him with latest echo report and all old reports. When he saw the all reports immediate he suggested for open heart surgery because of VSD was not in right position and device surgery will not have any support. And he referred to senior surgeon Dr. Dipesh Trivedi who actually does the operation. We have waited 4 hours for him to come out from Operation Theater. When we met him he also suggested same thing and given us some confidence while taking that Narayana is the world largest hospital for heart and I do 10-12 operation per day. But our heart was not allowing handing over child for operation so we wanted to take second opinion from different hospital. We gone to Jaydeva Hospital Bangalore with all reports and met with doctor but that doctor told come with patient so we will do the test and will tell you. Tomorrow morning again gone to that hospital with child but that doctor was not available so we have consulted with other doctor and he said no need to do test now. He saw all old report and he said surgery is required so we came out from Jaydeva Hospital and directly go to Narayana and given blood for the fitness test in the evening. We got report in morning and we saw report to doctor and doctor confirmed that everything is correct so he is ready for the operation and we paid necessary amount to admission counter and he admitted in hospital.
My nephew was in observation for 3 days why because Sunday came in between. Normally they will keep 2 days for observation. So Doctor given time for operation on early morning Monday at 7:30 AM. My brother-in-law has handed over his son at 7:30 AM for operation with crying faces. He, His mother, I and my parents were waiting in inward patient waiting rooms without talking each other why because we all were in full tension. Almost we waited three hours then they have announced that operation done so two person can go to ICU to see him. My brother in-law and father gone to ICU to see him so after that informed us that he is good and even he is able to response even. Then we got very much relax. After first time they used to allow only one person in ICU in visiting time so his father used to go there and update us morning and evening. They kept in ICU for first day and second day they have shifted in general ward. Day by day he got improvement and finally he got discharge from hospital after 8 days. And now my nephew is doing good but doctor suggested that he needs 3 months rest to we need to take care him. We cannot tell how we can appreciate Devi shetty and his team. They are really doing good job. I forgot to mention one thing that Devi Shetty himself celebrated children’s day in near to children general ward and my nephew was the part of that event and he enjoyed a lot.
