“Naran” Directed by Joshy is watchable due to Mohanlal's Outstanding screen presence.
The Plot
The Film is a fast paced Action- Drama showing an Orphan who keeps an emotional relation with people around and makes some rules in his village for the good of the people, He later earns hatred from the village and become helpless due to keep his promise.
The Cast
Mohanlal has given another Mind-blowing performance after a long time he had easily got into the character of ''mullankoli veleyudhan'' ;, He emotes mainly with his eyes and excels in the role of do gooder of the village.
Innocent, Jagathy, Madhu and Sidique provides good support for him Bhavana does her role with confidence.and Devayani , Rekhadoesn't get much scope in the small roles .Sai Kumar, Salim Kumar & Mamukoya gets wasted in insignificant roles.
The Crew
The major highlight of naran is the Screenplay by Ranjan Pramod, which dosen’t boast anything new but still keeps the viewer hooked for 2 hours. Although there are lots of unwanted characters in the film, Ranjan had woven them in the story with utmost care. It could have been better if Ranjan had edited some lengthy scenes in the second half to make the film more crisp.
Shaji’s Cinematography is eye catching also the underwater sequences have shot well.
The songs tuned by Deepak Dev are hummable and gels with the rural setup of the movie.
The Director
This may not be Joshy’s at his best, but the director had Shot the entire film with technical perfection. He had packaged the movie with right dose of Action, Emotion, Drama and Comedy. As he had done earlier in Runway.
Overall
Naran is a well-shot glossy Action drama due to Its Stylish Execution, emotional sequences, and above all towering performance from the principal cast. This film will be a Special Onam Treat for die hard Lal fans.
