Nanjangud is an ancient temple in Karnataka which is 25 kms away from Mysore. This temple is commonly known as Nanjundeshwara temple. Here Lord Shiva is worshiped. This temple belongs to government. Here people come with lot of difficulties and different type of health hazards and go back with getting cured from all their tensions.
Let me start with the main Temple that is Nanjangud temple. Here first thing we can offer small silver human idol which is called as manushya roopa. We get that in female and male and even child's. That cost's 20 to 30 Rs. Its a belief that suppose if we have any health problem any kind of difficulties to our loved ones we can just pray to Lord shiva that we will offer that silver idol to you, then the difficulties will vanish in miracle way. We can offer that when we visit to the temple next time by just buying the idol and praying god. There is a separate place for it to offer. This really works in miracle way.
There is another miracle in this temple where goddess Gouri is getting created on its own day by day. The same photo is uploaded in this review. Inside the temple first you find huge nandi then Lord Ganesha, Goddess Parvathi, Navagraha, Subramanya, Thandeshwara. Inside the temple we find small green Linga which was given by king TippuSultan to Lord Nanjundeshwara for getting his elephant's eye back.All these lords are having their own belief and very popular in miracle's.
Now let me tell you about Lord Parashuram which is just few distance it can be walk-able from Nanjundeshwara temple. There is a belief that we have to offer prayers to Lord Parashuram for Lord Nanjundeshwara to fulfill our wishes or else it will not be fulfilled. There we have offer jaggery, salt to the flowing water so that if we have any evil eye from other's will be cured and we will be blessed by the lord.
Near the temple of Lord Nanjundeshwara there is Kapila River flowing where we can take bath and offer prayers to god. There are private rooms for changing the dress and even tiolets for the devotee.
Convenience Facility is very easy. For every 10 minutes there are KSRTC bus from Mysore to Nanjangud.
Seva Details in Brief: The pooja and abhishekam starts from 6:00 Am to 12 noon. Then from 6:30 Pm to 8:30 Pm. Temple will be open on special day's like Monday's, Sunday's for devotee's to seek blessings who plan to come week ends.
Jatra: Festival like Mahashivarathri, Chikk jatre, Dodda Jatre will have N number of devotee's where chariots of Lord Shiva, Parvathi, Ganesha will taken in streets of Nanjangud by the locality people and the temple authorities. Precautionary Measure's to be taken.
1) Please don't throw clothes's to river or any eatable stuff to the water.
2) Maintain the place clean, especially the temple surrounding's where it reflects the image of your personality.
3) Don't stick any thing on the walls of temple where it spoil our historical values.
4) Don't wash clothes in river and contaminate it.
5) Offering's should be offered in hundi which is done by temple authorities.
6) Don't Spit or make your children to dirty the temple surroundings. Please use the toilets and even see that your children use the same.
