Nandankanan zoological park is one of the main tourist attraction of Bhubaneswar city. It is present outside of Bhubaneswar and 11 KM distance from Acharya Vihar square.
You can find city bus and auto to reach there.Nandankanan zoo is spread in 400 hectare area which is really a vast area. I visit Nandan kanan many times because I live in Bhubaneswar.
There are large number of animals and birds are present at Nandankanan. This zoo is famous for white tigers and I love to see them. Nandankanan has 34 aquaria in which large verity of fresh water fish are present. There is a reptile park at this zoo where you can find crocodiles, lizards, turtles and snakes. Nandankanan zoo has a lion safari which is very much enjoyable.
There is a big lake in Nandankanan zoo which is spread in 50 aces area. You can enjoy boating there. A botanical garden is present inside Nandankanan zoo where many people come to enjoy there picnic. It is a famous picnic spot in Bhubaneswar. You need at least one day to visit whole Nandankanan zoological park. Many tourist from India and foreign countries come here. This zoo is open for 7.30 AM to 5.30 PM. There is no restaurant present inside the zoo so you take you food from outside.
