Truly scintillating movie enjoyed every single stills of the film..........Life of a common man.... his aspiration.... onward journey to become indian diaspora is well shot.......Irfan Khan has done a wonderful character trully indian yet Videshi kinda thing ..Tabu has given an awesome performances...

The sexual scenes are well dealt with emotions in a small stint and of course Mira Nair need not be mentioned on screening best kissing scenes ...The entire movie circles around the Name Gogol which would have been really insignificant if not left with an accident , that changes the whole story ..the accident making a life long and cherishing impact on the protagonist life..... is something worth mentioning. Some of the picturisations was shown to be way back in 1974,  the protagonist earlier life ....his marriage to a truly traditional bengali girl and his onward journey to america and how the family get accomodated with the western culture...Its really heartening to see the next generation not getting the feel of indian culture ...left free to strive ....feel secure in western life...and how Indian foreigners they become...

The family realation ..the values which was a treasure ..can be seen to offset with the gulping of western idealogies...I do feel sometimes...whether Iam lucky to be born and brought up in india..rather than searcing an  identity in a foriegn land....Its a million dollar question in the current world of globalisation where every thing is made to be available in your feet ..but in well air tightened & refined packets (in all senses)...

I would say that the film is worth watching for those who want a break from the less ordained commercial action..sex...thriller kinda movie....for those who want to just think for a moment how the theme finally circles down to an insignificant but made to be significant "name"You start pondering whether one looses some thing if u were in gogols  role ...The Howrah bridge shots are well taken  ..The film also has inspired me to check in with the Jhumpa Lahiri's novel ..from which it was depicted.....
