Whats Namaste London all about?
….cultural
differences….NRI kids growing up abroad with a vague picture of their country….
There’s all in it….and If u r a true Indian this film is for u….u vil enjoy
it….
Jasmit
or Jazz(Katrina Kaif) is born and brought up in London and has her own ideas
of getting married and settling down….life is fun and enjoyment for her and
nothing else….she falls in love with her 3 times divorced firangi Boss who
wants to marry her…. Her father Manmohan(Rishi Kapoor) convinces her for a
holiday to India
with a hidden motive of dulha searching actually against her wish and then
circumstances compel Jazz to get married to Arjun(Akshay Kumar)……
On
her return to London with Arjun she reveals that as she was helpless in India
she had played a trick and she doesn’t consider the wedding as a legal wedding
and leaves Arjun shattered….but Arjun too is a pure Jatt at heart he makes up
his mind that he will let Jazz do what she wants as his love for her is pure
and true….
What
happens then is Namaste London….
TECHNICAL ASPECTS
the story screenplay was just about ok….the dialogues were good….thode se aur
nuances hote NRI community ke toh achcha hota….but other wise there is no
problem as such….
Must say that the music is a let down apart from the title sequence track….and
Tennu main dil da haal sunavaan….i think this song would have sounded much
better if Mika had rendered his voice….Himmesh’s voice is good but then he
should be fare to his own compositions at least and do justice to them by
allowing the right voice for a song….no soul in the music really….
Camerawork is very good….though the art director had not much scope in the film
most of the locations being original and outdoors but still he has managed to
pull it off in style….editing of the film is crisp….
Vipul Amritlal Shah has pulled it off in style and made a
good movie….doesnt leave you thinking at all….film dekho ghar jaao….so jaao
types….
Akshay Kumar is the jaan of the film I tell u….improved as
an actor….good timing….fits the role….does every thing to perfection….mind
blowing….Akshay ke bare mein jitna kam likha hai utna hi zyaada padhna….
Katrina Katrina Katrina……this is frankly the first film I
have seen of hers…she looks pretty and fit for the role….but she has to go a
long way to become an actress of high callibre….Its her luck that this film gave her
the role what she is good at.an NRI….god knows what she is gonna do in the rest
of the movies….ab har film mein toh NRI nahi ban sakti na….
Rishi Kapoor is perfect as Katrina’s father….can’t
recollect the lady who has played his wife but fine actress haan….Upen Patel as
Imran is good and convincing….Jaaved Shaikh as Parvez Khan is very good….even
the firang who has played Charlie Brown is a good actor….
*What do I feel
about Namaste London?*
It’s
a full time pass romantic comedy….with few superb emotional scenes….Indian
values….specially the scene where Arjun gives a lecture to the firang who till
that day thought India was a backward and snake charmer’s country….Akshay then
gives a hardcore impressive lecture to him on how India is superior than the
firangs….sach mein I felt like whistling but I thought that would be too much
so I clapped hard and so did all the people in the theatre….
The
best thing what I liked in the film which is a new experiment in a sense to
show India Pakistan relation….i am talking about the friendship of Manmohan and
Parviez Khan…. the bonding is so heart warming that you feel ki kaash mera bhi
aisa ek dost hota….ek hard hitting koshish nahin hai film mein is relationship
ko dikhaane ki par kya smartly aur beautifully nikal gaye director saab apni
baat keh ke….
Nice movie….go and see it at least 1ce if u have
time….a feel good film….
