Splendid Amitabh:Mr Vijay Marchant & Vijay Haz. Review on Namak Halal

There are a few movies that make you a ''GHULAM'' of some actors. For me it was Kohinoor/Dil Diya Dard Liya & Ganga Jamuna for Dilip Kumar & Mr Natwarlal ('Mere pasi awo mere dosto ek kissa suno!') Namak Halal, Trishul, Deewar, Bemisal, Yarana, Satte pe Satta that made me GHULAM of this 6' 3'' actor. Checkout a few amazing dialogs/scenes I have mentioned at the end; specially the 'Mr Vijay Marchant & Mr Vijay Hazare scene!'.

Out of these movies Namak Halal is arguably the most entertaining movies from Big B. Satte pe Satta was also a good one but Namak Halal had a certain non-stop nonsense that makes a lot of sense! The film has a mediocre start as it in Sharabi but it becomes a masterpiece once Bachchan arrives.

He uses his voice so well that even Dilip Kumar comes as a close second! Just remember ''Kyon bhain mister triple chhakke?'' & the dialogs given below!! Specially the (3)rd one above is a LARGER THAN LIFE !!! The whole scene is shot in one take..! Also, the way he takes the curtain below & up after ''Jawane Janeman''..there is certain genius to all this nonsense that keeps Audience in the seat before they realize it has been 2 hrs this guy came on the parda! The scene where Shashi Kapoor tries to sell off his property: Makkhi-Scene is just awesome. Ye Makhkhi us mahaan Sir pe ja taki, jos mahaan sir par ek baal bhi na tik saka..hilana mat sethji

His performance in the songs is a separate story all together..Paga Ghungaru Bandh Meera nachi thi. Only Bachchan can pull this stuff off! His robotic movements on ''little little world'' are as sincere as his scenes in Deewar in front of Lord Shanker! The best thing is that he is never afraid of how we might be looking in front of the camera. Ready to do anything!

Thodi si jo peeli hain..Chori to nahi ki hain Amitabh/Kishore are amazing given the fact Rajesh & Kishore were also amazing. It just speaks volumes of Kishore's ability to sing for two superstars in a row!

The only strange thing is the almost vulgar/controversial song with then Maharashtra minister's daughter Smita Patil. Aaj Rappat jaye. A Good song gone for a toss due to strange shooting..Rekha/Zeenat/Parween night have pulled that off but Smita Patil couldn't.

Omprakash & Amitabh pair shares a very good rapport & it shows in their synchronization also displayed in Sharabi. Omprakash is highly versatile & comes in his own in a comic role bu he expresses sad scenes also very well. The scene where Amitabh scolds him for taking away from his mother is one such scene. The rest of the movie including Shashi Kapoor has not much spice to write home about. Parveen looks just grrrrrrr..! :-) & performs well in the two songs she gets. Shashi Kapoor has given a very good support to Amitabh like in Deewar, Trishul, Kala Patthar. I think Kabhie Kabhie is the only movie where Shashi has a better role & also has performed better than Amitabh.

Overall this is a movie worth watching again & again for Amitabh's magical display.

Bhairov becomes barrow & barrow becomes Bhairov becuause their minds are very narrow! In the year 1929 sir when India was playing against Australia in Melbourn, Vijay Marchant & Vijay Hazhare were at the creaze, Vijay Mechant told Vijay Hazare ''Look Vijay Hazare, this is very prestigeous match & we must consider this match very carefully'', Vijay Hazare told ''Sir, this is consideration I can not consider..becuase ultimately we have to take a run..''
