Last year I travelled to Nainital in the month of March. We stayed in a guest house in Bara Pathar. The weather was good,it was very cold at night, but pleasant in the day time.

Since this was not my first visit, Iwas familiar with all the spots and they have their own charm. It is a beautifl place if you are a nature lover and fond of going on treks.

But if you are the type who would like to stay in one of the hotel on mall road and interestd in shopping etc. I would like to share my experience.

What I want to mention here my miserable experience at the Mall Road. Some sewage line was being laid and there wera bulldozer at work. There was so much of dust, unimaginable at a hill station. Some of the machines wera running on Diesal, creating so much of smoke. The traffic was diverted and one part of the road was closed. There was so much of rush that it was difficult to pass through.I was there for two hours and had a difficult time. One does not expect this on a weekend holiday. To get exposed to so much of pollution at a hillstation. Can't authorities do something about it?Can't they get the work done at night-time?

We always have the notion of 'havaa-paani-badli'at hill stations.Do we go for a weekend from a polluted city to more breathe in polluted air in a hill station?

If someone goes for a short visit, one shoukd avoid stay at the Mall Road.Prefer a lodge at a height and go for long treks. That is the most enjoyable part.
