Friendship or love!!!. Review on Nadodigal Movie

Director Sasikumar(as he is known these days) seems to have a Midas touch! not just coz the movies that he has produced have done well, because all the movies in which he got involved have become super hits! first it was subramaniapuram, then Pasanga and now NADODIGAL

Nadodigal is the story of three friends Karunakaran, Pandi and Chandran. Karunakaran is a BA history graduate trying hard to find a government job, the only way to marry his "Mama Ponnu" maternal uncle's daughter. Pandi, is the son of a garment weaver, who's aim in life is to get a passport and get out of the country, to escape from the verbal abuse of his father and mental abuse by his chitthi(fathers stepny), Chandran is the sone of a retired military guy, who's ambition is to open his own computer centre and is constantly kept busy hunting for a loan!

Karuna has a sister who is being hotly pursued by his friend Chandran as he is madly in love with her, he even gets his father's(unsolicited) advise on how to win over the girl. Karuna, though fully aware of his friends intentions and his sister's liking, keeps mum and does not discuss about this with either of them or his parents. Karuna is constantly abused by his father for just being a history grad and for not getting a proper job.

Life goes on thus, when Karuna's school friend saravanan pays him a visit. next day saravanan tries to commit suicide and is of course saved by the people around(he jumps into a well, to be unwell). He tells his friend that he is in love with a gal from his college days and his mother(an ex MLA) and the gal's father(a businessman) are against the marriage. Now Karuna decides to help with his close pal's joining him, the logic is(no logic) Friend's Friend is a Friend. They decide to abduct the gal and get her married to Saravanan. Things move thus and when the D-day arrives, there is lots of confusion and chaos, end of it the couple are united, Chandran loses a leg, Pandi his hearing capability and Karuna a blade cut above his eyes.

The guys mom files a case against the three, due to which karuna loses the eligibility to get a government job and net effect loses his Mama ponnu. With such a big loss, the trio come to learn that the couple, whom they united after undergoing such pain, have decided to divorce!

What happens next is something very new and novel, hence kept a secret for you to view and relish on your own.

Keeping in line with the recent trend of making movies based on interior parts of Tamil Nadu, this movie too is based in a town, near madurai. Needless to mention that the Camera man has captured the stunning beauty of the place and its surroundings.

I would give five stars, or more for the dialogues of the movie. Each and every interaction between all charecters, be it serious or light hearted, are sculpted with excellent dialogues.

As far as acting goes, Sasikumar is starting to enter the big league, he is able to emote beyond his beard. The same cant be told about the other two members of the trio, they try their best. Iam told that the gal who acts as Sasikumar's sister, "Abhinaya" is deaf and dumb, but she comes second in terms of emoting and acting! hats off.

Music of the movie is So So. Yet again I was irritated with an Item number popping up all of a sudden and there was this other song in the begining, both were avoidable. Sudar C babu's background score is sufficient, Sambo sivasambo stands out as the catchy and hummable song in the movie.

There is Kanja karuppu and another guy who comes as a local politician to give us comic relief.

Watch this movie, if possible with your friends, For this is a movie that glorifies friendship and rates it beyond the concept of Love!
