This movie is surely a stunner! it is movie that should be watched by all, if you don't you surely are missing something ! but be ready to accept the raw facts and realities of life!
Naan kadavul is a movie with perfection to the core. maybe the title would not have been justified a lot in the movie, as major part of it deals with the underground mafia torturing the under privileged to beg. its really heart wrenching to see so much reality .
For once I felt no one could have ever touched this subject with so much rawness, and depth. the song pichai pastrami surely would make any sane man emotional, I dont think that song could have been better pictured.
each character in the movie has given such a splendid performance , aarya dwelves into the aghori world with such conviction, has given a powerful performance. pooja portrays the blind girl with a beautiful voice dragged into the horrific begger world displays her predicament with ease and vigour. the last scene was so well acted that one cant help but feel sorry for the character.
The movie clearly depicts the emotional trauma and helplessness of the less priviledged character, the character of murugun is worth praising, his turmoil of not being able to do anything good. Though the movie deals with such powerful and dark subjects, it has been carried out so well, there are light hearted moments comedy by the beggars now and then.one gets a feel how the people under those circumstances get used to their life and make themselves happy of it. it is such an irony .
The only thing one feels is that the life of aghori could have been dealt with in more detail rather than the beggar world to justify the name of the movie, a common expectation. but I dont feel that expectation suffers much.for this kind of movie has not yet been made and cannot be with such undying perfection.The aghori concept of punishing the evil and salvation to the weak needed such an indepth analysis of the realities.
The cinematography needs special mention, right from the scenes in kasi where one feels the divine presence and the scenes in tamil nadu every scene is a masterpiece. The prime factor that drives everything and leaves an everlasting impact is none other than the music by illaraja.
Whether it was the song depicting kasi or the om siva depicting the aghori, or pichai paatiram, its an exhilirating experience. its phenomenal ! Hats off to the man behind all, who has once again proved his prowess and sheer genius , the director -bala.
