Yesterday I watched Naam Shabana & here is my review on it which will help you a lot.

Although a prequel/spin-off to ‘Baby’, ‘Naam Shabana’ needs to beviewed as a new movie, it is the story about Shabana Khan rather than just astory of revenge on behalf of a nation. Taapsee Pannu’s powerful performance, added with Akshay Kumar’s star power makes the movie worth watching. ManojBajpayee’s dialogues in between also make the movie paisa-vasool.

‘Naam Shabana’ is the back-story of how agent Shabana Khan became who she was in ‘Baby’. The movie rather focuses on the aspect of why and how she chose to become an Intelligence officer, a journey which is dragged only to become a bit better in the second half.

All the actors are good with their performances but, like needed, Taapsee steals the limelight with her action scenes.

The story is not for those who expected it to be another ‘Baby’, with the screenplay only taking pace in the last 30 minutes. Dialogues by Manoj Bajpayee are good. Editing is belowpar and background score only improves with the film. Dance numbers help create light moments between heavy and intense scenes.

Costumes are average as all of them are dressed like common men. Taapsee very well switches between Indian and western attire. The cinematographer has done a fairly good job in capturing the important moments.

Director Shivam Nair wastes a lot of time by showing the back-story of Shabana Khan which consists of romance, murder and a horrifying past, which scarred her. This was the first half of the movie and the actiononly begins in the last 30 minutes, which barely helps the movie which led to feels like little boring.

I'll not recommend to those who wants the entertaining film as it will only appeal to a certain section of the audiences. So if you want entertaining movie then don't go for it.
