I feel this review is:
This is one of Mahesh Bhatt's best.I still wonder why has he lost that touch of his. This was one of actress Nutan's last movies before she expired. What a sterling performance she gave for this flick!!It has to do with 2 brothers who are the exact opposites of the proverbial coin. One is the rooted sober kind while the other is always hankering after the riches of the world. How many times have we heard of that one?But then you can depend on Mahesh Bhatt to tell you an engrossing story in his own gritty style. Then one fine day the wayward guy gets a chance to go for a job in Dubai and lands up in Hong Kong instead because the travel agent cheated him realising his weakness for money. The bad spot that the brother finds himself in after coming into contact with drug smugglers makes for compelling viewing. As usual the elder brother goes to save him but by then things have moved out of control. The flick is very famous for it's Pankaj Udhas song Chitthi Aayi Hai.It really brought tears to your eyes as you thought about your near and dear ones abroad. What to Do?We,Indians are a sensitive lot.The emotional scenes pack a lot of wallop.Mahesh Bhatt is very adept at exercising our lachrymal glands. One has to give him that. Finally it is Sunjay Dutt that steals the show as the wayward brother who wants to get rich overnight.Kumar Gaurav has given one of his best and sensitive performances.Nutan as usual excels in the part as the bereaved mom.Paresh Raval as the unhinged villain is too good.He conveys the right degree of menace.I heartily recommend this flick to folks who like quality cinema.
