In the summer of 2013, I signed up for two of the courses NIIT(Dilsukhnagar centre, Hyderabad) offered, namely C+ and Oracle RDBMS SQL. I had heard a lot about NIIT prior to my joining, and I hoped that they would live up to the "reputation" they had. But to my great dismay, I found out soon after joining that far from being professional, they were quite keen to live at the opposite end of the spectrum.
If I had adjectives to describe NIIT, they would be: unprofessional, unethical, insincere and indifferent. They take almost everyone who signs up for a ride. They promise to start new "batches", but in fact just merge you into one of the existing batches, midway through the course.
The teachers talk in Telugu, and despite repeated requests, they refused to talk in English. My C+ course was supposed to have 30 teaching hours on 15 days spread across a month, but not only was I left clueless in the midst of a batch which was already halfway through the course, I was "informed" after 3 classes that the course was done, I knew C+ and that I could collect my certificate. That, ladies and gentleman, is how much quality an "NIIT certified" programmer is likely to have.
All in all, I had a really bad experience at NIIT, and it would not be an overstatement to say that I REGRET joining NIIT, and that I feel THOROUGHLY CHEATED by the absolute farce that NIIT delivers in the name of training.
And I speak not just for myself, I asked a lot of my classmates at NIIT, and there was not a single student who was satisfied with the quality of service delivered by the institute. It is also on their behalf that I write this review, and I sincerely wish no one has to get fleeced for nothing like we did at NIIT.
