Andhra Pradesh has an impressive 950KM long coastline but since tourism in Andhra is still in its infancy state very few beaches have got some limelight. Believe me, there many more places to explore. Since I belong to Nellore I will take the task of introducing some exotic places in Nellore to mouthshut readers. One such place is Mypad beach (Maipadu in telugu). Since I was not a travel savvy initially, I didn't bother to visit this place. Now especially after the purchase of a new digital camera I had every reason to visit this place.

Mypad is a small village and is situated 21 KM from Nellore. There is regular bus service to this place and for every 20-30 minutes one can get a bus. The road is quite good though not very wide. We started on our bikes and once we crossed the city limits we saw lot of greenery and we become rejuvenated. The drive was fantastic. Big banyan trees, coconut trees, mango trees are lined up all along the road as if they are welcoming you.

The green paddy fields, banana plantations and fish ponds will be a visual treat. We hardly felt the heat of sun throughout our journey. The road ends at the beach and we parked our bikes and walked into the fine sand. I was thrilled to find the beach so clean as I had some bitter experience previously with some other beaches. (The Marina beach in chennai one year back, it is looking good these days as Jayalalitha's Govt. got it cleaned recently and the so called Juhu beach in Mumbai). Though the sea didn't look that blue in color (may be because it was partly cloudy on that day), it was gentle still awesome.

Even on Saturday evening less than 20-30 people were there. A lone vendor there did not pester us much and we enjoyed playing with water. My brother's 2 year old son jumped, splashed and enjoyed thoroughly. Then we sat on the sands for sometime and found ourselves taken over by the majesty of nature. As the sun set in, and darkness started spreading we started our return journey to Nellore. This trip was a great stress buster for all of us.
